  Personality Part 1: It is first deceptive to blatantly call Jason a typical prince, although such a stereotype does fit in some regard to his character. Natural-born leaders, full of passion and charisma. An admirable quality is that Jason radiates authenticity, concern for others, and is unafraid to stand up and speak their mind if it needs to be said. He finds it natural and easy to communicate with others, especially in person, and his intuitive traits helps him to reach every mind, be it through facts and logic or raw emotion. He can easily see people’s motivations and seemingly disconnected events, and is able to bring these ideas together and communicate them as a common goal with an eloquence that is nothing short of mesmerizing.
  Jason is primarily, a loyal man and hard-worker, dedicated to his People and dedicated to helping others. Jason has a few sides to his persona: There is the formal, polite and considerate nature - dignified and poised. He is fiercely valorous and courageous, and honours the friendships he builds as he is a firm believer in emotional connections (which is ironic as Jason also is as equally if not more able to resign his emotions from his duties completely and sometimes, appears to have no personal life and thus, appears boring to others or monotonous).But in the end, he knows how to act and when to act what personality required for the moment – unless of course he feels uncomfortable. Furthermore, his spirit and resilience is astounding, which renders him a grounding force for those he knows, a beacon of support and fortitude and reliance for those who know him well.
  The interest he has in others is genuine, almost to a fault – when he believes in someone, he can become too involved in the other person’s problems, place too much trust in them. However, usually those people Jason dislikes for whatever reason, he avoids disclosing information with them. Gaining his trust is difficult, as such was broken at an early age in youth which has left a mark. Luckily, his trust tends to be a self-fulfilling prophesy, as his altruism and authenticity inspire those he cares about to become better themselves. And if not, then clearly we have a personality clash. (this is a vein of relationship you can take with him if you deem it fit).
  Naturally of course, the man has his own flaws and characteristics which can be extreme or paradoxical. Jason’s social charm and prowess is equally as devastating, as the protagonist-like character he is, he sees the faults of others and utilizes his tremendous capacity for reflecting on and analyzing their own feelings, becoming too caught up in another person’s plight, and so develops a sort of emotional hypochondria, seeing other people’s problems in himself, trying to fix something in themselves that isn’t wrong. If those he cares about get to a point where they are held back by limitations someone else is experiencing, it can hinder his ability to see past the dilemma and be of any help at all.
  Moreover, he struggles heavily to admit, discuss his own feelings. He chooses to neglect or dismiss his own personal feelings for the sake of looking after others; or really because he is so used to being a beacon of support, that his pride prevents him from showing any, any form of weakness. It is very rare to see Jason upset, and he is hard to read, unless you know him well enough. He knows how to ‘walk the walk’ and ‘talk to the talk’ so pinning what he thinks, without him communicating it either through words or his eyes (if you know where to look in the first place), is difficult for most.
  
  There is his adventurous and exploratory characteristics in which he feels most free and occasionally, this can lead to rebellion but happens in not many circumstances. Whist his outward appearance of a man who is practical and enjoys planning, and creating methods to achieve goals; the paradox exists that Jason also relies on his imagination, the ideas and possibilities. He dreams, fantasize and question why things happen the way they do, always feeling slightly detached from the actual, concrete world. Sometimes, he feels that he never actually truly belongs to his world. He may observe other people and events, but his mind remains directed both inwards and somewhere beyond – always questioning, wondering and making connections.
  He is willing to give up the convenience, comfort and predictability in return for excitement brought by exploration, distant civilizations, and undiscovered mysteries of the world. But – it is his allegiance and duty and role as a leader and Prince to a People, and his Father, and the promise of his Mother – that holds him back from realizing this.

He is more energetic and willing to take the lead in many situations, especially social ones, and he enjoys pushing limits and challenging both themselves and those around them.   Despite his connection with a god-sent race, Jason has the abilities and capabilities of a human. He is not at all gifted in magic, nor is he gifted in physical prowess beyond what a human is capable of. Sure, he might be physical agile, strong, flexible and fast – but all of this has derived itself from his own training from early ages, and continued into his 20s.
  Combat:Jason is particularly skilled in sword mastery – his primary combat skill. His secondary combat skill would be hand-to-hand, although his sword is his preference. He is also a very capable horse-rider, but not so much good use with a bow and arrow.

  History/Ancestry:
  
  This history is integral to understanding Jason as a character – but you can skip reading it if you like because reading history is difficult.
  Before Jason was born, the linage of the royal family extended back into hundreds of years, rumoured on his mother’s side, that the Gods had condoned these natural born leaders to be the leaders for the future of Syracuse. The legend goes that Jason’s ancestors originated from a tribe, located somewhere in the Seven Seas on various islands, whereby each and every one of them was deeply connected to the ocean. They were humans, crafted by Apollo himself, the Sun God, and placed there as a gift to Poseidon so that his sea realm could have mortals akin to the element of water. Soon, tribes were formed whereby each Isle had its own Chieftain. In particular, the culture of these islanders inspired knowledge of magic, but most importantly, a knowledge whereby they would be in harmony with nature, and use Gaia’s resources to further their civilisations. It is unknown how it came about, but the tribes exchanged sacred knowledge known as Nero (meaning “water”) whereby all youths of the villages could transform into white seals and explore the depths of their home, Poseidon’s kingdom.
  The priests of each individual Isle, had a role to ensure that the mortals performed tasks in order to keep the peace between Sky and Sea, and each priest owned a crystal of blue that hung about their neck –a symbol of their role and a key to unlocking the knowledge of Nero. This crystal also gave immorality. And soon enough, the people of the Isles turned to creating and forming cities beneath the waters, establishing means and ways of living beneath the waters (perhaps as a god’s blessing or through technology of some description), and founded Atlantis.
  
  However, a mysterious force swept that ancient, ethereal city and its inhabitants from existence, and still people are unsure if it exists today. Those who did survive, however, were among that of the family Penelope (Jason’s Mother) originated from. They moved across the Isles, and eventually found settlement in the core of the Mediterranean and the landmark between the East and West – Syracuse. It was here, that the beginnings of the legendary and powerful metropolis first started; a fishing village that eventually expanded through means of having so much wealth in trading goods, that other realms began to see a benefit in forming a contract. Soon enough, the linage continued and eventually, many hundred years later, the twelve empires were created.
  However, for Penelope, she did not grow up in the civilised world of the Sicilians. Rather, she was raised by barbarians from the East, who trained her in dark magicks. In this era of Syracucian history, it had been taken over by a linage who believed in Athena – in military success and gain, wisdom and culture. This was Dymas’s family, the Petros.
  
  To cut a long story short; Dymas needed to bring back a holy relic to Syracuse for his coronation (otherwise he would have not been crowned) and did so with the aid of Penelope, of which the two fell in love.
  Jason would have been the youngest of three, if not for the doomed fate that befell his mother, Penelope. Whilst growing up, Jason was told that his mother was ill from a sickness that would inevitably end in death. He was only allowed to see her twice a week, not more nor less. This was because Penelope was an exile – but not just that – she decided to enact revenge on Dymas for choosing another wife (which bye-the-bye did not end up or turn out well either), taking from him what he most cherished – his two sons.
  
  As a result, Penelope escaped only to be captured once more – and a sick game was played between Dymas and her, whereby he would – in secret away from Jason’s knowledge and eyes – perform sexual exploits on Penelope (essentially Jason was born out of unwanted sex), and then ensure that love was made between him and his new partner. Jason to this day, does not know of this, nor the partner – who is still alive. Penelope eventually died, and with that came The Prophecy: That if the Prince did not fulfil his role as the ruler of Syracuse, then the god Apollo, angered by the death of Penelope as a result of her maltreatment would ensure Syracuse saw no light ever again.
  
  In light of these darker themes of Jason’s past, there was the moments of light. She taught him all his spirituality and worship as well as how to behave as a gentleman, etc. She educated him book-wise alongside the scribes and tutors. Her influence over him translated into his higher respect for women as forces in society; quite contradictory to the patriarchal frameworks entrenched in Syracuse.
  
  Dymas, his father, more than spoiled him – he always spoke to Jason like a small adult when he was a toddler, and treated his son more like a colleague and a best friend whilst he was growing up. He was given an education required of a Prince, and Dymas ensured that the best of tutors were given to him. Dymas felt that Penelope robbed him of his son at times – though heeding the advice of counsel members, knew it was best to allow the boy to be sated – though fears that one day, Jason will learn of the past and feel tremendous guilt, and even more so, remove Dymas from his position.
  
  When he was little, he met Dareia the day he ran away shortly after his mother’s funeral rites, and became his best friend, Jason always wanted siblings and thought Sinbad would be the perfect brother. It was at this moment that the two opposite sides of their society, met and formed an unshakable friendship, a very rare and special sort. Jason saved the life of Dareia, to which Dareia claims that he would not have survived without his intervention. When they got a little older, around 14, the Prince begged his father on his birthday to make Sinbad his honorary blood brother, to which Dymas did say ‘No’. It was here that Dymas reminded Jason (after their argument) that recognizing the duties of royalty and ‘keeping the line’ was of more importance. Since Jason was an only child, he was mostly surrounded by staff, teachers, and diplomats and delegates his whole life. But, he still longed for siblings and loud halls clamoring with their noise, feeling lonesome most of the time. He vows that once he takes a queen, he wishes to have many children.
  
  Mostly attributed to Dareia, the Book of Peace stolen by the Goddess Eris (of Discord), Jason willingly placed his own life on the line for his friend, who he had not seen in 10 years. At this stage, the Prince was roughly 20 years old.
  Long story short, the Book was returned by Eris who had to keep her word, and Jason escaped execution (right of substitution). Out of an act of selflessness, Jason allowed Marina (whom he was fond of and betrothed to) to leave him and be with Dareia, his close friend, whom she truly loved. Saddened by this reality but accepting her fate and his decision, Jason watched Rei's ship sail out of Port, never to see her again. There were more important matters to attend to: Eris had clearly wanted him dead and her little ploy with Dareia, was only the first aftermath.
