• Biography

  From the Orlesian line of De Freyen, Jeannot yearned to be a Chevalier from the very moment he first laid eyes upon them. He devoted his spare time to studying them, and his father invested in sword lessons for his son. When he came of age, he was admitted to the Acadamie. The training was rigorous, and yet, he loved every minute of it. It gave him a sense of purpose, and the code of the Chevalier rang true deep in his heart. An honorable man to his core, he knew he was meant to be a Chevalier. He felt sick deep inside when, as the final part of his training, he and the others were sent to "test their blades". He partook in the drink, though when set loose with the others, he went off on his own. He did not let it be known that he killed no elves, knowing the lie to be more honorable than killing innocents. When his training was finished, he served valiantly beneath Empress Celene, loyal to her through everything. When sent to Halamshiral to put down the Elven Rebellion, he followed orders without hesitation, despite the horror of the terrified expressions of the elves. He was one of the very few to escape whenever Gaspard all but slaughtered each of Celene's soldiers. He made his way to Val Royeaux, and continued to serve Celene when she returned. After the Inquisitor assisted Celene with the problems of the Civil War, Jeannot was sent to Skyhold to help the Inquisition's efforts.

• Personality

  Jeannot is quiet, mostly keeping to himself. He is cordial and formal in most of his interactions, and leaves some to wonder if he even has a personality. As he gets comfortable with someone, however, he begins to open up and leave out the formalities. Despite his quietness, he enjoys jokes and time with those he considers friends. He is loyal to those he cares for, watching over them with careful eyes, making sure all is well.
