For Kaylee becoming a cop was never really a hard choice she is from a family with a long history in law enforcement her father James is the police commissioner so was her grandad Leo, her mother Marilyn also worked as a police officer but resigned after she got her four children, her oldest brother John was also a cop but he was killed during a routine traffic stop, her other brother Jack has been a cop since the 90s and he is now detective 1st grade in the robbery-homicide division while her sister Kaitlyn is a lawyer she is the bureau chief of the ADA she joined the academy like the rest of her family but found out being a cop wasn't for her so instead she became a prosecutor while with Kaylee it's just the opposite Kaylee is a Harvard Law School graduate, on Harvard she was in the top of her class and she could have had a bright future in legal work but after working a couple of months as a lawyer she was so bored with the legal work that she followed her familys footsteps and joined the police academy much to her fathers dismay she is now working as a patrolling officer and is sure she made the right choice
