  Shugs looks like your average Pembroke Welsh Corgi most of the time, he's short and squat with little legs and a big goofy expression. He's sable in color and often sports a thick coat, generally he's also wearing a collar that just says "Shugs" on it. But to be honest he doesn't really belong to anyone.
  
  As a human he resembles his corgi form quite a bit, he's on the short side and his limbs are a bit too small for his body. However that cute puppy look that a corgi tends to have transfers over into an almost ageless boy face on Shugs. He has soft features and a softer temperament as a human. Because he has not been in his human body nearly as much as his canine counterpart his voice is rarely used, his speech is broken and the outgoing playful Shugs turns incredibly shy.
  
  

  

  
  Shugs doesn't remember much about where he came from, he assumes it was somewhere around Nexxus but really his first memories start at about age 6 when he found himself stuck in the pound. It wasn't a particularly happy memory, in fact Shugs was pretty terrified but he got adopted by a family and for a few years everything was alright.
  
  Until they had a kid and didn't want both a kid and a young dog. They dumped him at the pound and when it was time for him to be euthanized Shugs took matters into his own maw and escaped. After that he has lived on the streets pretty consistently.
  
  Oftentimes he prefers his corgi form simply because it allows him to survive a bit better, but he isn't unused to his human form. He's even been known to do a few "tricks" to get a warm bed and some food in his belly when it gets bad enough.
  

  

  
  Just because Shugs doesn't know much about his past doesn't mean there isn't anything to know, the boy that was named Culhwch after the cousin to King Arthur once belonged to the Jernigan family. A family of Welsh decent that migrated to join their Italian cousins in New Orleans, however tragedy descended on their family shortly after they set sail.
  
  Culhwch's mother watched her husband fall overboard during a particularly violent tempest and it threw her into a sudden and dark depression. Even though she had five year old Culhwch to care for she couldn't pull herself out of the darkness long enough to pay him much attention, nor could she take care of herself. Within six month's time his mother committed suicide, leaving her son to fend for himself.
  
  Afraid of the police Culhwch ran, he took off down an alley and he hasn't stopped running sense. The ability to shift kept him warm at night and allowed him to get into people's lives. At least most people weren't cruel to a homeless dog like they were a homeless kid. As a boy he was beaten, abused, used, and discarded much like trash. But as a corgi more people tried to give him some food, tried to be kind to him, and offered up their homes.
  
  Because of his tendency to get used less as a dog than a boy he started to stay a dog more and became extremely developmentally delayed.
