• Description

  Nicolas is an author of a very popular murder mystery series, along with other books, mostly fictional with a few non-fiction things. He's a favored guest and host of high class parties and the social circles of such things. He goes to symphony concerts and plays often. He keeps a very careful and specific collection of social connections.
  
  Nicolas' outside personality is polite, charismatic, patient, and generous. His more honest personality is reserved, bitter, and easily agitated. He values knowledge and information a great deal. He has a soft spot for animals, and is a vegetarian. Whether Nicolas is, at his core, a good or bad person, is up for debate- but he's not a nice person, that much is known. Nicolas has some good traits in him, but you have to find out which ones are faked first, and then pull away the bad traits, to find them. His great fondness of animals and the arts seem to be some of them. He's very protective of those he deems at all worthy of his favor.

He resents Maurice for his laziness, and they argue on many matters, but they're a lot more similar than they'd ever admit. They're quite loyal to each other, in the end. Disposing of bodies together is both a trust and distrust building exercise.

• Biography

  Nicolas was homeschooled as a child, and got an education that suited him a lot from it.
  
  While his brother Maurice tried to make friends, and was miserable over his failures in that pursuit, Nicolas quickly took on a 'I'm right and they're wrong' attitude when experiencing rejection.
  
  As a child, Nicolas was very quiet, and too smart for his age. When he did speak, he used words that were too big, or said things that a child shouldn't say.
  
  He learned to read very quickly, and after that, read most anything he could get his hands on.
  
  He was overly honest at that age, and said what he thought, even when it was terribly insulting. He directed most of his irritation towards other children, but although he liked them a little more, held disdain for adults as well. Especially when they didn't treat him with respect, or even worse, pitied him. Pity and sympathy were different things, and he became more and more aware of that fact the older he got.
  
  In his teens, a few attempts were made at bullying his brother, Maurice. The first time, Nicolas was livid. The next few times, he was more deliberate in his own reactions and actions regarding it. It stopped happening fairly quickly after that, and Nicolas learned a lot from that experience.
  
  Nicolas was poor in his childhood, and is very careful with money and luxuries due to that.
  
  Nicolas and his brother moved together to the city to cut ties with their background.
