• Description

  She was smaller than average femme, but not quite so small as to be considered the conventional 'tiny'. She was sturdy as she walked or stood, but didn't look all that strong - maybe even a bit malnourished - she held her head high despite this appearance, and the fight in her vibrant green eyes was enough to make you think twice about challenging her or approaching her with some ill intent. Despite this, her smile was sweet and gentle, if a bit guarded. Her ears were always alert, her foot falls very measured, and her shoulders often stiff. Her eyes seemed to be always searching, as if she'd either lost something rather important or was expecting something tedious to happen.

• Biography

  Erable was not born or raised into a loving home. In fact, the simple concept on how it felt to have happiness and safety eluded her completely. Her father was a cruel and controlling beast that kept Erable locked away from the rest of the world - quite literally caged. He fed her many lies and criticisms as she grew. Saying she was freakish and unnatural and insolent, telling her all the horrible reasons why she was so stupid and incompetent and how all she could ever hope to count on in her life was him and how there was nothing better for her out there than these rusty iron bars.
  
  Despite all of this, Erable’s spirit was bright and burning. Though she never questioned her inferiority, believed in her apparent illnesses and grew a severe paranoia of all the things surrounding her, she always ached somewhere deep within her - past the mask and the wall, down in the dark well of her long forgotten emotions. There was a yearning there, a nameless want for something more than her cage.
  
  At the age of nine, after a horrible event that ripped away the - already barely holding - veil of youth from her eyes. When the world and all its monsters suddenly became so much easier to see; It was then that Erable finally decided enough was enough and slowly started to build upon her plan of escaping that monster that played at being anything other than what he was.
  
  It took her five whole years before she could take that first step into the light, and face the corrupted path ahead of her into adulthood.
  
  Yet, with all the terrible things now facing her, in her new life and home - the alcohol, the fighting, racism, drugs, deception, and constant death - there was also a spark of something much warmer there to greet her. A light in all of the darkness, and an answer she’d never even realized she’d been seeking. In this moment, as she finally caught a glimpse of it, that little flame in her heart began to blaze, bright like the sunshine itself.
  
  At this one moment, Erable’s soul seemed to soar, because that ache had finally found its name, and that was the ache for freedom. Freedom from all the pain and sorrow that came from growing up in the dark. So, for the first time since she was just a little babe, she held her head high and faced the open world, feeling the breeze stroke her fire inside - and set off for the path that would let her be free.
