Skona

The Ashturner, Skona serves as the Shrouded One’s representative and agent of her will. Forced into a grim conflict with her father after the murder of her mother, Matsikani, with Bitabu attempting a coup to remove her status in the Ushtu clan. Sacrificing the totality of the amassed Ushtu magical potential to enact an incredibly destructive dimensional punch to salvage the few people she could, Skona and the Ushtu splinter found their way to Crossroads.

Although she was fairly small, physically, she more than made up for it in presence; naturally, summing up the whole of a person succinctly isn't easy and often not accurate, but tsundere would work in a pinch to give a stranger a basic idea of what to expect. While not unusually built for a Rahndil, her frame was exceptionally well-muscled, on top of a compact, hourglass figure. Deep aubergine hair was often worn tied back in some modest and practical fashion, to keep it from getting in her face; large green eyes, a modest and blunted nose, and full and prominent lips were set against cool tan skin barely marred by indicators of her age, with ashen-white tattoos on her face, back, and arms that only seemed to manifest when she was activating the ritual arts of her heritage and station: the nohoma.

Typically, she wore outfits Rahndil make, as the styles of her people best suited her anatomy. Robe-like garments with large, open sleeves easily accomodated the vestigial membranes that still spanned from the backs of her upper arms to the areas of her back flanking her spine, a living reminder of her people's descent from large bat-like creatures so many eons before. These upper body garments usually were colorful, but not gaudy or ostentatious, incorporating simple but visually striking traditional designs and patterns, and more often than not included the Ushtu family crest, typically on the back. Leggings, or other comfortable garments that allowed for leg mobility were generally favored over skirts or looser types of trousers, and were commonly black, or some dark, neutral tone with minimal embellishment. She, like most of her people, rarely wore any kind of shoes, unless a situation necessitated it, preferring her small but nimble feet to be free. Accessories were plentiful, often in the form of necklaces and bracelets. While some were purely for aesthetic purposes, most were ritualistic in purpose and value, strings of large, bone-white beads were highly prized within her family, as these items were made using the cremated ashes of esteemed ancestors and kin, a literal relic through which connection with honored deceased was maintained.
