• Description

  Lillia Spiegel Pax was born a witch, of this there was no doubt. Had it been in any other part of the country this would have been something her mother and father celebrated, but in the province of Gelb magic was something to fear. Those without magic feared the wizard Nero who ruled over the area, using his magic to force those who lived under him to submit. Those with magic had even more to fear, for the wizard Nero was a Syphon. He stole the magic and life energy from any witch or wizard he got his hands on, paying those who brought them to his attention well enough that even a life long friend may be tempted to turn their neighbor over.
  Lillia had lost her father before she was born, whether to illness, attack or for being a wizard her mother would never say. When her daughter showed early signs of magical ability, Gruin Pax did what she could to hide them. This became slightly more difficult when her three year old daughter, in reaction to being stung by a scorpian, summoned an old wind spirit by the name of Gossvadamoin. After killing the scorpian, and taking half the room with it, the spirit changed from his monstrous form into one of an old man. He claimed that as Lillia had been the one to summon him only lillia could send him away. Being a young child, and excited to have a new friend she was far from likely to send the old man, whom she had taken to calling Gossy being three and not able to say his full name, anywhere anytime soon. This left Gruin to concoct a story about an unknown grandfather from her husbands side of the family. Most people accepted this easily assuming that with the death of her father Lillia needed a male influence.
  When Lillia was old enough to understand the danger, Gruin explained why she must never let anyone find out about her powers. It was easy enough to keep a tab on things, her mother owned a tavern which had information passed through it like water through a sieve. Lillia waited on tables when she could, with Gossy sitting never too far away. The patrons often came through with stories of grand adventures, romance and treasures, entralling Lillia from the first time she'd heard them... and planting a seed in her mind. Maybe an adventure would be a good chance to use her powers for something... interesting.
