• Description

  Standing six feet tall and slim of build, Wyllo seems a fairly average canid. His markings are somewhat odd, though. His base fur colour is a warm grey, but when clothed, one might think it's the caramel colour on his head. His face and shoulders are a caramel colour with mahogany patches up his ears, along the top of his muzzle and forehead, and along his scruffy lower jaw.
  His outfit is usually a pair of trousers that go halfway down the foot portion of his digitigrade legs, a collared shirt (of which he has several, so which one he's wearing changes now and then), a bright red sash in place of a belt, a wine-red cape with an inbuilt hood that is secured in the front with a copper buckle/clasp and only comes about midway down his upper arms, though he used to wear one that came down to his knees. He also usually wears a pair of fingerless gloves with embossed metal plates sewn onto the backs, and pouches that strap to either thigh and his sash, hanging against his hips. An old, well-worn but cared for dagger is tucked in his sash.
  
  Abilities:
  Fire Magic: Wyllo's affinity for Fire element magic has blossomed into his specialization. While he can cast other magic types, Fire is the strongest for him.
  Shapeshifting: Since being cast from his homeworld and gaining access to a wider array of magic, Wyllo has discovered a penchant for shapeshifting using magic. However, he cannot freely change form; he has three alternate forms he can assume, and must use a lot of energy and discipline to attempt others. Even then, he rarely succeeds in adopting a new form, so he does not often attempt it. It should be noted that his mass is retained between forms - he becomes far denser in a smaller shape.
  Winged Form: More of an addition to his natural self than an actual alternate form, Wyllo can create for himself a pair of furred wings. However, he is incapable of generating wings large enough for typical flight, nor does the nature of his wings (stiff fur like whiskers, not feathers) allow for more than gliding or slowing a fall. As such, they are mostly for decoration, and in a pinch can be used as a second pair of limbs for close-quarters combat.
  FoxFire Form: The first actual 'alternate form' Wyllo ever succeeded in assuming, it has become surprisingly easy for him to become the FoxFire. As the name would suggest, this form is a fox, and effectively transforms Wyllo into a lesser Fire elemental. He stands 2'2" from ground to skull-top in this form, and his colouring becomes brilliant, fiery red all down his back, and propane-fire blue on his belly. His tail also becomes made of magical fire, which he can adjust the brightness and temperature of. While in this form, his fire spells are greatly enhanced, at the cost of any spells not related somehow to fire. He can still cast Lava and Thunder element spells, but at a far weaker level than Fire. He is also able to manipulate his bouyancy relative to the air around him by adjusting his molecular temperature, which has the effect of giving him the capacity to fly (in a sense).
  Fox Form: A form given to him by a being similar to a genie, this form borrows heavily from his FoxFire form for its basic appearance. However, its colouring mirrors his natural pattern instead of the bright red that covers most of the FoxFire form. Because of how he gained this form, his weight is appropriate to his size, though his mass is technically the same as his natural form.

• Biography

  Wyllo was born on Laratia, a world normally isolated from the apparent 'network' of worlds most people can traverse. His childhood was not a pleasant one. A tyrannical leader, Koriak, was rising to power when he was young, and had been eliminating those who spoke out against him. This included Wyllo's biological parents. Orphaned, Wyllo was taken in by the family of Byrch Huntress, a child the same age as he was. They grew up together, though one could never really tell if they thought of each other as brother and sister, or something else.
  
  As an adult, Wyllo came into his own as a Taleweaver, the Graath caste of storytellers for which a good equivalent would be a guild of bards and scribes. He was well-respected for his ability to embellish a story to keep it entertaining, and enjoyed a relatively priveleged life.
  However, he and Byrch (a Huntress by trade) had been working behind the scenes to disrupt Koriak's machinations whenever possible: forging false deployment orders, altering shipments, anything they could subtly sabotage. This was an unknown boon, relatively small or not, to the Grand Alliance of the other races on Laratia, with whom Koriak was waging a war.
  
  Twelve years ago (by Common accounting), Wyllo and Byrch were found out thanks to a slight mistake in the detouring of a vital war shipment. Barely escaping the Graath capital with the help of a Deathmasker (akin to an undertaker, with the additional responsibility to create death masks for the recently departed), they ended up refugees in a city near the war front on the GA side. It was here that they met a Pinara Itaraka named Taro and a Vegaian named Bukan. Explaining who they were and what their ultimate goals were, Wyllo managed to convince Taro and Bukan to accompany him and Byrch back into Wolven territory to attempt a major blow to Koriak's regime.
  Not long into their travels, they were challenged by another Vegaian, Bakar. Vegaians are very powerful spellcasters, and while fighting Bukan, Bakar used a forbidden spell in an attempt to scatter his opponent to the void. The spell went astray, striking Wyllo instead. However, instead of ripping him apart, the spell instead acted as a portal to another world, dumping Wyllo into a garden park on one of the worlds in the typical 'network'.
  
  Years later, after learning Common and many new magical talents, he was discovered by Farren Dustfur and Libby Forrester, a couple who ran an assassins' guild up in the mountains of the world he was visiting at the time. Befriending them, he eventually joined the guild, taking on the alias of 'Firewolf' and gaining a reputation as a surprisingly resourceful and effective assassin. He would usually use his charm and ability as a storyteller to get close to the target, then cook them from the inside out and disappear using the skills he'd learned from the other guild members.
  Eventually, after Wyllo had made a small fortune, the assassins' guild dissolved, the members going their seperate ways. Wyllo still did contracts here and there for those who knew how to contact him, but overall he left the life of a killer, returning to his original path of a storyteller.
  
  He eventually came to Silverion Island, where he met a lava-cat named Ember. They eventually grew close and became mates after Wyllo saved Ember's life following an attack. This is what caused the greying of his muzzle, the stress of the method he used to save her life causing the premature aging of his fur. Wyllo has taught her some magic, and is trying to teach her to read and write on the side.
  Wyllo went on an adventure with Ember, attempting to find and hopefully restart the volcano Ember was born in and which at some point in the past became dormant. They found and managed to restart the volcano, but only one other lava cat, a newborn, was brought back as a result. Ember stayed at the volcano to help raise the kitten and attempt to coax more cats back from their rock-states, or to cause more to be born.
  Wyllo on the other hand returned to Silverion Island, to pursue any leads that may present themselves regarding the problem. There, he reunited with Taro after twelve years, and spent a while catching up on lost time with the ursine.
  
  Following the Silverion Nexus crash, Wyllo spent some time wandering, basing his travels from a temporary home in Draygan's Hollow. When that place too became unreachable, he settled in Rainbow Bay, and has taken Lazinine the Traveller and Shawna Kelfonne as his 'packbonded' (mates). For some time, Wyllo had his magic voluntarily sealed to avoid losing his mind to a very special kind of mana poisoning specific to his species.
  A wishgranter-enabled rejuvenation has given Wyllo his youth back along with about four times his normal lifespan. He's also unsealed, and enjoying the return to his magic use. The wishgranter was actually granting the wish of his 'sister', Byrch Huntress.
