• About

  Shorter than average and a little pudgy for an elf, Aeren usually looks far too cheerful to be a necromancer. He doesn't mind, really; life is a lot easier when people aren't hunting you down for practicing black magic and desecrating ancestral tombs. He's a fairly pretty person, as elves tend to be, aside from some disfiguring scars on the left side of his body. He has long blonde hair that he keeps tied back for practical reasons, and he's never without his staff. What self-respecting mage would be?
  
  Aeren does his best to stay positive in a world filled with monsters and inexplicable happenings, but he does have a nervous streak, and a bad temper when pushed. He's self-reliant and reluctant to put his trust in anyone still breathing, but he can be a valuable addition to the party as long as there's something in it for him. As a mage, he has plenty of weaknesses to be exploited, and his talents are best applied in very specific situations. He knows he works best as part of a team... at least, for the time being.
  
  
  
  
  -Keeps an open mind.
  
  There are few things Aeren is more enthusiastic about than magic. He's fascinated by spells and casting techniques from all schools of magic, not just his own, and he's always ready to learn something new. Aeren is of the opinion that everybody in the world knows something you don't, even if it takes a few spells to get it out of them.
  
  -Enjoys the simple things.
  
  Money, glory, power... mostly power, in Aeren's case, but he's definitely a fan of the other two. It's why he got into the adventuring business in the first place. Even if he thinks he's above it, he's easily swayed by offers of material goods, arcane knowledge, or just free food. He's adamant that adventuring is only a temporary thing, though: once he's got everything he needs, he's going to leave the it all behind and settle down. Maybe he'll find a nice dungeon to haunt somewhere.
  
  -Fears the reaper.
  
  As with many necromancers, Aeren has a deeply-ingrained fear of his own mortality. Dancing on the line between life and death will do that to you. He's decided to deal with this, as necromancers often do, by doing whatever it takes to achieve immortality- or at least, something close to it. He knows it's not a pursuit that often ends well, but he's sure he can handle it.
  
  -Likes making friends.
  
  The smiles and can-do attitude can be a little disarming, but Aerenwen is still a necromancer. Many of his undead servants over the years have been people who decided to pick a fight with the unassuming-looking little elf. He has a much harder time forming lasting relationships with the living, though. He finds it difficult to trust anyone who isn't
  fully under his control and makes a point of not getting too attached to anyone he can't use.
  
  He does like animals, however, and keeps a pet raven. It is, of course, undead.
