• Appearance

  When in her true, natural form, Meryu stands 7 feet tall, 35 feet long, and has a 87.5 foot wingspan. Her body is covered in beautiful sea blue scales that seem to have a shimmer of green iridescence going through them when the light hits them just right. She has large slitted pupils that seem to be half green and half blue making them almost mesmerizing to stare at. Two webbed fins can be seen on the sides of her head and when she is in the water, they tend to move with it. Two large ivory horns extend back from the bony extensions over her eyes and continue back from her head, giving her head a sleek, menacing look. She has rather short legs, but her claws are large and curl under almost like a velociraptors. Her wings are large and have a hook like talon on the ends of the posts before the blue webbing comes in between the fingers. Her tail seems to taper off rather fast and ends in a whip-like appendage that has a small triangle on the end.
  
  Most of the time, Meryu opts to use her enchanted amulet to transform her into a hybrid of sorts. Instead of the large dragon body, she has one that is rather humanoid. She stands about 6'2", walks on two legs and has hands just like everyone else. The amulet can give her many human features like a human face, but a lot of her attributes cannot be taken away. Her skin is the same sea blue as her scales making her stand out like a sore thumb. On top of her cute little human face is a head of sky blue spiral curls that bounce around her face with as much excitement as she usually has. Her eyes are still the same split color but it's hard to tell because she's always on the move. Aside from her strange skin color, she still has a smaller version of her dragon wings attached to her back as well as the tail that extends out from her spine. Her hands have very sharp fingernails that are much akin to claws, and she has a lot of visible muscle on her body. Seeing as how this is not a natural form for her to be in, she carries a bag around with her that has various items of clothes she has looted from human villages and she will wear whatever she finds in it.

• Personality

  Clueless would be the best word to describe her. Clueless and naive. Meryu is certainly a strange dragon indeed as she tends to horde knowledge instead of shiny things. She is always curious, especially about humans and finds herself drawn to all kinds of situations because of it. Always excited to learn something new, Meryu tends to cast her instincts aside and dives in head first. She is rather friendly and polite, and always seems upbeat and cheerful. Not having witnessed much in this world yet she tends to think the best of everyone and that can get her in trouble a lot of the time. She very rarely reflects upon herself and how she is feeling so if she finds herself in the situation where she needs to, she will probably be overwhelmed.

• Biography

  Meryu was brought into this world with a Water Dragon for a mother and a Wind Dragon for a father. The whole thing was a huge scandal as most dragons do not breed outside of their specialty. Either way, the two were in love and they were going to make their own little family. That is until her father died at the hands of Dragonslayers before she was even hatched. Her mother went back to the Water Dragon clan that she had been a part of before she met the Wind Dragon, and that is when she laid the egg that would later hatch into Meryu. Unfortunately disease overtook her mother and she died before Meryu hatched.
  
  Now that they were saddled with an unhatched egg they couldn't just leave it to die. They wanted to, seeing as how it wasn't a complete Water Dragon, but one elder spoke against it and chose to hatch the egg. So, Meryu was hatched and out came this little hatchling that had no parents. Though the elder dragon hatched the egg, she didn't do much when it came to raising her. Meryu learned most of what she knows from watching the other dragons, or the other hatchlings that she would follow around. Nobody wanted to have her be labeled with them. So while they allowed her to live and grow with them, she was never fully accepted into their ranks. She fumbled about through her younger ages and learned how to hunt in the water and swim from them. Unfortunately nobody else had wings like her so nobody could teach her how to fly. She learned that from watching the birds.
  
  As she grew older she started to notice more about the world around her. She learned all the different creatures that were in the world and one fateful day she had a run in with a human. Of course, she was hiding in the bushes and the human couldn't see her, but she watched him talking to himself for a while and all of the strange things he did fascinated her. Suddenly, she became obsessed with finding out anything she could about the humans. The dragons she lived with warned her that they were dangerous and not to be trusted, but she pushed her limits further and further. She would leave the clan to watch humans in the nearby towns, wanting nothing more than to be part of them, to walk with them.
  
  On one of her visits, a strange man noticed her hiding in the nearby trees when no one else did. He wore strange clothes and spoke strange and didn't seem much like he fit in with the rest of the humans. Either way he seemed curious about her. Their relationship started out slow, where he would just come and sit under the tree she was in. Then he would actually speak to her, pointing out things that the humans were doing. Eventually she would sit down in the grass with him, still hidden by the shade of the trees. They would see each other everyday and she had grown quite fond of him. After months of the friendship building, he came one day with a gift. It was an enchanted amulet. He explained how since he was a wizard he had been able to make this for her and it would transform her body into something much closer to a humans. When she put it on, she was speechless. Though she wasn't exactly human, it was close enough.
  
  Boom, friendship made. She never went back to the Water Dragon clan after that. Instead she became his pupil, learning how to read, write, and speak like humans do. In return she told him whatever questions he asked about her or what she knew about the dragons. Though she is still learning, she tends to sneak out a lot when he isn't looking to go exploring.
