• Clash of Interests

  Mishial lived a simplistic life with his brother Savel in the castle under a wicked king. The king had managed to hide his true nature to his guards, headed by Mishial, for many years. It was not until a nation-wide war broke out, pressing the guards and the citizens of his home to the edge, that the king's nature was revealed. His tactics became laced with too many unanswered questions, and as Mishial looked into it, keeping to the shadows, he discovered that the king he'd pledged his life to had begun the war, in which had caused his wife and son's demise. Enraged, Mishial ensured the king's end. His action eventually brought upon the end of the war, but he was imprisoned and slowly came to death in his cell, starved. Thalu, an elder reaper, came to collect his soul and bring it to its next life. Seeing the virtue within the buck, he decided to change that soul's destination and brought it before his Lord, Aminentus. Aminentus ascended Mishial into a reaper, his brother Savel would soon join him and together they would be the Gatekeepers of the shadow rivers.
