About Wolfgang
Appearance
A creature with physical features similar to that of a typical elf, such as pointed ears and perfectly smooth skin, but with a somewhat more sinewy definition overall. Wolfgang very much looked the part of an apprentice who resided in an ivory tower with an elderly mystic, having upon him runic gloves (which functioned similarly to wands or staves) and satchel filled with curious things, which served as conduits for whatever mischief he could think up. The robes he wore were royal blue with black trim, but strangely insisted on wearing socks instead of boots to cover his feet. His eyes were a light shade of purple, and little fangs would poke out of his mouth from time to time with one usually idly resting upon his lower lip. He would keep his hair at about a medium length, as the strands would typically be quite tame and rest naturally behind him. Finally, his overall muscular was a bit thin, being of a build more typical of one who ventures the outdoors very often, rather than the exaggerated physique of a more image focused athlete.
Background
Wolfgang (or Wolf) is a bit of an oddity for the Frostkin, since they are more historically known to be superstitious or nomadic creatures which resided in uninhabitably cold environments. This was mainly attributed to social isolation, but there existed factions which adapted to a more civilized lifestyles after coming in contact with other races. Having established some healthy trading partnerships with neighboring societies, Wolf’s parents amassed a fair amount of wealth to send their eldest son to the Heisman Academy of History and Literature until he continued onto an apprenticeship to pursue Natural and Applied Arcana under the tutelage of Master Micaiah Christoph. Although he was a poor student at the academy, his ability to apply the illustrated concepts were exceptional for his age.
As one might imagine, this created a difficult relationship between student and teacher, as Wolf would rarely pay attention enough to explain important concepts which pertained to his own wellbeing, but proceed to demonstrate a strong command of them in practice. This was partly due to a language barrier, as he was not as well versed in the common language that was still foreign to him, which caused him to instead connect what concepts he could via his own insight. That is if he didn’t manage to get bored and start using his new knowledge of magic to prank innocent bystanders, or start gambling away his family’s hard earned money with the other people in town.
Over time, Wolfgang began to earn a bit of a reputation as a harmless nuisance, which spread to his more competitive social peers who proceeded to give him the nickname: Snowflake. Apart from his juvenile behavior, he would occupy a good portion of his time helping others in what ways he could, until eventually his mentor gifted him a familiar in the form of a dragon sprite named Mishka. Similar to their much larger relatives in appearance, Mishka would fly about gracefully and play with whoever she could while developing an empathic spirit bond with Wolfgang.
That being said, and without spoiling some key points in his developmental history, the young apprentice Wolfgang would go on to explore other parts of the world when a break was warranted in his academic training. After all, master Christoph would periodically lecture that: “isolation and obsession over the (elemental) world makes a callous and arrogant creature. We have always been meant to learn the value of others through experience.” Though it sometime went as: “I’ve had my fill of your charm and antics. Be gone a while, and let me work.”
Personality
How Wolfgang writes compared to how he speaks to people is on two entirely different wavelengths. While speech prone to vulgarity and teasing, his written work is carefully crafted in respect to the literary standards of the Heisman Academy. This, he believes, comes from the standard of “considering one’s audience”, as Wolf built a special resentment towards pompous instructors who belittled their students with unnecessarily ornate rhetoric. Passionate about this view, he often feels the need to call violators “stupid”, which has given ample cause for drama in the correct social environments. At heart, he is an adventurous spirit who is still very fond of getting his “hands dirty”, and although his behavior can be seen as rude or overly casual, these manners typically hide kinder intentions. Perhaps he is simply not well versed in the dangers of the world just yet, but maybe it is better not to worry about what might be, and simply live the life we were given.
