• Bio

  Aztec, AKA Azzy, finally moves up to high school the same day her brother leaves for college. Aztec is a silver wolf shifter, as is her brother and father. Azzy is a special kind of shifter known as a stick-shift meaning that she can never enter the full human form, and in Azzy’s case, it means she permanently has wolf ears and silver hair. Before she has always hidden her ears, but her brother convinced her to uncover her ears for Jr. high, and that went well, so she now refuses to hide her ears for anything.
  
  
  When she enters high school she finds the treatment of shifters very different from Jr. high. They are bullied and beaten and because all the teachers and principal are humans, no one cares or does anything. Despite the advantage they would offer, no shifter is on any sports team or in dance, for “appearance”.
  
  
  To change this she decides to gather together all the shifters in her school who want a change and hijack the upcoming dance concert and put on a dance with 100% shifters. During the “drafting” she met Seaver, a tiger stick-shift, with a left hand that is permanently a tiger paw. They both had a strong will to protect others, and to change the world, with such core things in common they quickly grew close.
  
  
  Aztec was so consumed with practice, and getting the key to the auditorium, that she didn’t notice the news, what was going on and the night The were supposed to go on, human rebels attacked, calling for the death of all shifter, referring to them as animals and livestock. All the bird shifter shift and leave, now indistinguishable from normal birds, the others take off. Aztec had never been so surrounded by death or smelled so much blood, or seen such hatred in people’s eyes.
  
  
  She took off with Seaver and 3 others and made a camp in the mountains. The rescued a four-year-old snake stick-shift and 6-year-old human girl. They fought for their lives, Aztec managing to secure a cross-bow to protect them, though she hated killing, a puked anytime she was forced to kill another. But the closeness that developed between the young girls, one a shifter and one human always hurling together, their clones gave her hope. Humanity still existed, it was just buried in anger and fear, and one day maybe they could return to the kind of humanity those two girls had.
