  It started when she left him. Little Chuo's mother left her father. She just packed up and left one day. After that, he stopped showing up for work at the hospital. When her mother left, Chuo's life changed.
  
  It began with little insults, as if he blamed her. Then he started smacking her, then hitting her. But it was breaking the glass beer bottle across her face when she was 10 that disfigured her for life.
  
  From the age of 7 her father had been in trouble with some very bad people. He could pay some of of debt, but not all. But it seemed giving them something else would make up the difference. This something was of no importance to her father. Daddy's 'friends' came over frequently through the years.
  
  They did things to that child that no young mind could cope with.
  
  Growing up with an abusive drunken father isn't easy, and that's why she killed him when she turned 15, on her birthday. No one asked her why, no one said anything but guilty. Until they started saying insane. They locked her up in Norcom Asylum for the Criminally Insane. Most of the time in solitary because she unnerved the other patients.

  Just another nightmare
  
  Norcom Asylum is just one of the many Hell's of Nicole's past. It was here she chose the name Nicole. And whenever the doctors, nurses, or orderlies called her Chuo she would have a fit, kicking and screaming rather ferally, usually they had to put her in a padded cell until they called her Nicole. Then they took away the mask she wears over her scared face. They did it 'for her own good' but it resulted in her curling up in a corner and hiding her face whenever she was in the main room or where someone could see her.
  
  Her life was a series of nightmares. Her eyes became so dark it seemed she could look through someone, or into them. Some nurses found her so eerie, and even evil as one had said, that they would change wards, and one quit.
  
  Soon after her 19th birthday, Nicole escaped, no one knows how. She disappeared after that but mysterious and disturbingly bizarre murders started popping up.
  
  She wears a mask at all times, similar to the cloth face masks the doctors wear.

• Madness Begins

  Smart, brown eyes opened in a well lit, too clean, too white room. Where was she? A voice blared over an intercom and a moment later she realized it was a hospital. Why had she woken up alone? Shouldn't there me doctors and her father standing over her? Maybe even her mother? But there was no one but her in the room. She sat up slowly, a monitor going off for a few moments because her heart rate picked up when she moved. Why did breathing feel so funny? She lifted a hand and felt a cloth over her mouth. It hurt her face to press the cloth, even gingerly. Eyes slid in the direction of the bathroom and she absently tore the sensors off her ten year old chest. She got up slowly, groggily, taking hold of her IV stand and wheeling it along with her. The 5 steps to the bathroom doorway. She reached along the inner wall for the light, flicking it on. Her mouth was covered in a surgical mask. She stumbled two more steps and and lifted her free hand, the one not holding her IV stand.
  
  The mask was pulled away, it's ties falling open as the mask hit the ground. Black stitches lined her face in unnatural ways, holding closed the jagged cuts that now covered the region of her mouth and jawline. Sweet brown eyes darkened a shade from doe brown to dark chocolate. Stitches tore as her face contorted, opening her mouth wide for a shrill, unending scream. An identical scream more of indignation than of terror sounded in her head, crashing through her mind as the memory of the beer bottle breaking over her face flooded back.
  
  Nurses and doctors rushed in, trying in vain to stop her horrid screaming. Certainly she would stop when she needed to take a breath, but she never seemed to pause for breath. A tiny pinching sensation in her arm as a syringes contents were emptied into her veins and then blackness. She would have no way of knowing that, though this was the first time she had been forcefully sedated, it would not be the last.
