  ☼ Physical ☼

  ဎရ္က္, more commonly written as Dhaark or Dhāk, is the resultant offspring of a coupling between a Sk'älik father and a Sk'älik-Human mother. Though his mother's peculiar genetics have been partly swept away, Dhaark's standing silhouette is comparable to a human male's as a result, and he possesses an upright posture and humanoid muscle map. Standing at nigh six feet, he is bipedal and perfectly suited to walking on land. Unlike his brethren, his years are longer, and his lifetime will likely not be quite as short.
  
  Stature aside, Dhaark still retains the specialised and often frightening features of the Sk'älik. Glistening flesh is pulled tightly across a dire bone structure, sinking into his cheeks and reflecting a slight array of faint red and blue hues beneath direct sunlight. His face, if compared to a human's, possesses a much flatter nose with no definable septum and elongated nostrils which are able to close completely when submerged in water. Dhaark's lips are pulled taut and are lacking a cupid's bow, and his upper lip instead curls subtly upwards, often revealing the slightest glimpse of serrated teeth if left unchecked.
  
  When beheld, Dhaark's most notable feature are his eyes; wide and deep-set, coloured a reflective turquoise and centred by the vague suggestion of small pupils. These pupils enlarge greatly when in the pitch dark of night or the depths of the ocean, gifting Dhaark with remarkable eyesight even in unlit conditions.
  
  Like many Sk'älik, Dhaark is completely devoid of body hair. His form is instead accented by small fins and suggestions of where fins might have been. His dorsal - specifically his upper back and lower neck - is decorated by a shallow dorsal fin, which flexes passively throughout the day and tenses when Dhaark is placed under stress. His forearms and shoulders also hold outward-facing, spined fins. Dhaark's ears are elongated and fin-like, pressed firmly against the skull. Likewise, Dhaark's hands and feet are well-suited to his water-dwelling origins. Though bearing distinguishable hands and feet, his fingers curl abruptly into clawed digits with shallow webs between them, and his feet display a shorter bridge and elongated, clawed and webbed toes.
  
  A single, Inva' ring pierces through his left antihelix -- a token of a past marriage.

  ☼ Psychological ☼

  
  Wide eyes see all and insecurities haunt Dhaark, for he knows well of the thoughts his outlandish appearance provokes. His temper is thinned by loneliness, and he hides his guise beneath a loose cloak whilst on land, not wishing to frighten passersby as he sells the spoils of his trips to sea. Though his tone never brightens and his face seldom smiles, he holds his few friends dearly, and provides remarkable counsel for those he truly cares about.
  
  Unfortunately, since the disappearance of his pairbond half his lifetime ago, his friends are few and far between, having left his insular for good.
  
  A low and gentle voice speaks tales of wisdom and travels, far beyond the reaches of his age. The sea leads to all places, and Dhaark has seen many things.
  
  He is sore about his past and speaking of his wife pains him greatly, and such matters will only be briefly mentioned to those he truly trusts. Though he is sceptical of all things at first, gaining his friendship has proven to be a great boon, as Dhaark regards all of his small world as family.
  
  When discussing the sea, it may perhaps become clear that Dhaark holds some deep philosophies surrounding the deep, mostly reflected from his home culture. He might mention the sea's finite resources, or that he might one day be punished for taking spoils from the Goddess.
  

  ☼ Biography ☼

  
  Born in the shallower depths of the Insular dubbed Vit'saarèn, Dhaark was raised by both parents alongside his three brothers, living quietly amidst their sea-faring brethren. Though Dhaark loves the sea dearly, he quickly became fascinated by the surface, having heard tales of his mother's mother and her life on land.
  
  He met his wife, ဿဂ​ (Sāga) near the beginning of her life, and the two married at maturity. Dhaark adored the Sk'älik woman dearly, and abandoned his surface-world interests for her sake, as she expressed sadness over her tailed physiology preventing her from travelling to land along with him. Despite spending many of their hours together, the two never bore any litters of their own; a subject Dhaark was pressed with often.
  
  Following a usual outing to replenish food supplies, Dhaark returned to the Insular only to find that Saga was nowhere to be seen. Prolonged waiting pressured Dhaark into searching beyond the outskirts, and no matter how deep nor how far he swam, he could not find any trace of her whereabouts. His peers claimed to have witnessed nothing, and only recalled seeing her in the moments before Dhaark ventured outwards. Searching became an obsession, and Dhaark's mind curled into itself, becoming bitter and foul-tempered towards outside sources. Deep thoughts and comprehending overtook him, and he soon slowed into gentle sadness. He knew well that the waters were endless and that many before had lost their way amidst Q'Tam'šmă, and counting his time, he left his home behind and ascended to Püertagœ.
  
  Dhaark's instalment on the surface was met with mixed reactions, from neutrality to disgust. The latter proved to affect him greatly, even to the point of pushing the sea-dweller into donning a worn and shrouding cloak. At present, he is well-known for selling the fish he catches on his expeditions, displaying them on the racks outside his home and rarely attending markets when the weather is gentle enough. Dhaark might also sell any trinkets he discovers in the shallow seabed; jewels and other oddities cast away by careless sailors.
  
  Living by the sea's edge, Dhaark resides in an empty shell of a cabin, well-worn and rotting with every passing rain cloud. Luckily for him, Dhaark very much appreciates the rain and mist that the unsealed roof allows to pass.
