  Bitterness once hung over the man in a dredge of black, clouding his once righteous vision and inflicting great selfishness and ambition upon his psyche. Devoid of any real moral teachings when he was young, the boy grew with almost no influence from his parents, who both passed before he could touch adulthood. Upon reaching maturity, his father's estate and title were inherited by his name, and the young Enri thusly became Lord Enrico, who in turn became Marquess of the Silk Province; a county well-regarded for its production of silks and fine materials.
  
  The newly anointed Marquess taxed the Province to dire effect, feeding his own narcissism with grand funds and decorating his pride with gold and rare luxuries. His world had always been small, and he looked upon those below him with nought other than disgust, slighting those who dare ask anything of him. His ill regard to others led to his ultimate downfall, for the young Lord once insulted an Enchantress who wore the glamour of a beggar. For the first time, Enri knew the true meaning of fear and saw the world through the eyes of a beggar as he asked for forgiveness. But the Enchantress saw clearly that was no good to be found in his heart, and cast a curse that would contort him into a hideous beast -- a despicable mockery of death.
  
  Abandoned by his camaraderie and forced into solitude, Enri's ego had crumbled into nothing, replaced only with self-loathing and a deep and brooding grudge against all those who left his side. With his appearance attracting nought but the fear of onlookers, the Marquess has long fallen into despair, secluded during the day within his empty, crumbling home.
