• Biography

  Jaimie here is a Scottish-born singer-songwriter and bonafide rock star. He dropped out of school at sixteen after he was approached by a record label following posting a bunch of songs on youtube - and well, his mother's never quite gotten over the fact that he didn't finish school first. His first EP was released in 2012 and his first album a year later, which garnered no small amount of critical acclaim both in the UK and abroad. The problems came with the crowds that he fell into - by the time Jaimie was eighteen, he'd developed a coke habit and was more than a little reliant on alcohol. He became moody and unpredictable, his already short fuse rapidly shrinking, and his family despaired. At this point, the family had moved to America due to Jaimie's parents' careers and Jaimie was now based in New York for part of the year.
  
  It wasn't until last year that everything came to a head; in January his parents cut him off and in March his sister Caty staged an intervention that finally got through to him. Jaimie entered rehab for three months shortly afterwards, and has been officially clean and sober since last August. He released his second album not long afterwards, having written it all whilst in rehab, and it went on to win big at the AMAs and the BRIT Awards, and for the first time he was nominated for two Grammys (best rock album & best rock performance). Since he left rehab, Jaimie's been living in Newcastle to be closer to his family, and his younger sister Caty is living with him.
  
  He's a bit eccentric and a huge dork (imagine running into the room and leaping on the couch when he hears the Doctor Who theme), and basically does whatever he wants, whenever he wants, and he'll try anything at least once. He's undyingly loyal but has a bit of a temper issue that used to come out when he was drinking - now it doesn't rear its head quite so much.
  
  He's a very famous individual who was a tabloid goldmine both in the States and the UK at the height of his addiction because he was very confrontational and was constantly papped stumbling out of clubs in the early hours of the morning. He's very much been in the public eye since he was in his late teens, so people tend to think that they know him because of that.
