  Dr. Charlie's large personality is contained in a relatively small frame, but being a fan of puffed sleeves and hoop skirts she always looks a little larger than she really is. While she would like to own more fashionable dresses, most of her frocks are simple, dark-colored, practical garments that are good for everyday wear. Her long brown hair is usually tied up or back with black ribbons, and while she owns a few heirloom jewelry pieces the only one she wears on a regular basis is a peridot and mother-of-pearl brooch that belonged to her mother. During formal events she may wear some rouge and eye makeup, but whenever she's working her face is kept clean and neat. Almost every single one of her outfits includes a large white apron and black sleeve covers, especially if she needs to perform surgery.
