The Musician

Jacqueline was raised in the city of Spokane Valley by her mother and father. It was a fairly normal childhood with the exception of the high expectations and pressure that her parents had always placed on her. It always seemed to her that they cared more about impressing their friends than what was actually good for her. Growing up, she was always a model student and excelled at the activities she was forced into, however only one that stuck with her was piano. As soon as she played the first time, she was in love with the music that it created.
When she reached high school things became more difficult. The pressure from her parents became overwhelming and during her junior year she discovered Adderall. Living in a decently wealthy area, it wasn't difficult to get ahold of, and it quickly developed into a severe addiction. While it it did give her the focus and energy to do well in school, it also brought a new group of people into her life. She began to party on the weekends, using drugs and alcohol heavily, and before too long the drugs spilled into her weekdays as well. Her performance dropped drastically, and she began skipping classes. Playing piano was a thing of the past. The things that used to interest her she had no desire for any longer. She was eventually confronted by the school counselor, and her parents were informed of what had been happening. They agreed to send her to the best rehab center in the area, mostly to keep up appearances.
Jaqueline did well right out of rehab, but she found that being in the same town was too difficult. After going through a small relapse, she moved on her own to a small apartment in Seattle and began working as a bartender and attending classes at a local university. There, she rediscovered her love for music and also began playing the piano and writing songs on the side.
