• Overview

  Spirit. Young and wild, the girl known as "Mattie" was once a spry filly with a bold heart. But a recent burglary turned sour, and Mattie was captured by foul hands, bound and taken below ground until the gang's eventual rescue some three days later. Though her time spent in Skinner captivity was short, she still refuses to speak of her experience and turns pale even when the subject is merely hinted towards. The most prominent souvenir taken from the ordeal is a long scar, lacerated horizontally against her neck; her once long hair had been sliced short, and the blade nigh took her head with it. Those three days reduced her spirit to quivering ash, leaving her paranoid and short-spoken and rendering her unable to maintain eye contact for long. She is healing slowly, but there are murmurs of her becoming a hindrance, and even amidst her disturbance she longs to prove herself useful once more.
  
  Body. Mattie stands at modest height, bearing a lithe and slightly underfed silhouette suitable for her "trade." Her form is usually clothed in loose blouses and high-wasted trouser skirts, though she often changes these for more masculine wear during expeditions for the purposes of comfort and ease of burglary. Her complexion is pale and anaemic, and often turns pink from overexposure to the sun. Her nose, kissed by long daylight hours, hosts a gathering of dark and clustered freckles. Pale eyes stare wide and vacantly into the distance, and unkempt waves of hay-coloured hair fall from her head like plumes. After the incident, her hair hangs only a small ways past her jawline.
