• Who is this joker??

  James sports dark hair that stays unruly no matter how short the cut. He wears designer suits that look like they've been slept in, and constantly chews gum. When he exhausts his gum supply he switches to lollipops.
  
  James is a member of the superhero team the Avengers, although nobody can quite figure out why ("I think he makes everyone look good," Black Widow deadpanned). He claims to be a mage, although the only power he's demonstrated involves touch-range mystic energy bursts. James also says he has the ability to make opponents "anxious" but since he elicits anxiety or misgivings from many people this is harder to verify.
  
  He does have an apparently countless number of contacts and "friends" (his word) in virtually every walk of life, making him an invaluable, if often frustrating, investigator.
  
  For unfathomable reasons James is listed as a mentor in the Avengers Mentor Program ("LOL r u serious??" Squirrel Girl blast-texted when she heard of the appointment).
