  Behold Hades, first-born of Cronus, King of the Dead;
  
  who tread the waters of Acheron and made it to the edge.
  
  Who devoured the essence of the accursed unliving, and
  
  bound the fates to his legion.
  

  Shape-shifting, ever-beautiful;
  
  Cruelty embeds upon the God's hollowed chest, and
  
  he adjourns the living with fascination
  
  and tears the butterfly's wings.

  The aspect of death breathes void-like neutrality, and beholds neither sin nor virtue for its worth. Hades' fascination with the living is often mistaken as cruelty -- rather, his adoration of beauty is child-like, naive, and subtly spurred by looming jealousy. He possesses a voracious desire for power he cannot recognize, and in failing to differentiate between right and wrong, he perceives no restraint in taking what is believes to be rightfully his.
  
  Death assumes many silhouettes, though Hades most often presents himself as a pale, melancholic creature, whose appearance undergoes subtle changes over time. As one who occasionally finds solace in meddling in mortal affairs, he has learned to reshape himself into creatures easily recognizable by the living. His philosophical outlook is bleak, as expected of Death, and he seldom speaks outside of a mellow, indifferent tone.
  
  His demeanor is subtle and foreboding -- alas, his actions are often terribly extreme.
