Gamin

Nicknames: Gamin (ga-min), Reaper, Death, George, Mister, Old Lady, Missus, Smokey, (more to be added as they come up).

Age: Exact age unknown, old enough to work and travel alone.

Occupation: Escorts the 'souls' of the dead to their respective afterlifes. May take other work as needed.

Alignment: Lawful Neutral/Neutral Good - There are 'laws' or 'guidelines' that dictate Gamin's job and they try to abide by them generally. They are not evil and try to be good, though their idea of good may not always match those around them. Usually they do try to do good and follow the main rules of their job - ie x 'souls' need collecting, person a is one of those 'souls' and needs collecting before a certain deadline. Exactly how and when it all happens gives Gamin some wiggle room to allow some people a little extra time or take someone a little early if they are a bad person.

Height: Distorts as needed. Twice as tall as whomever is looking at it.
(Gamin's items adjust accordingly as does anything it holds when looked at).

Appearance:

The figure is tall and wears a long dark hooded cloak that covers all of their body and hides their face in shadow. It is assumed that they have eyes because their gaze can be felt though their eyes like their face can not be seen through the shadows within the hood. The cloak drags on the ground as does its sleeves. It is not clear if they have feet arms or if their is a human shaped person under the cloak or if the person is the cloak itself. The cloaked figure's voice sounds distorted whenever they speak making it that much harder to label them as male or female. Over time people that care about such things pick one or the other and name the figure as they see fit.

Voice: Robotic and distorted, neither clearly male or clearly female though Gamin can change their voice to be one or the other on request if they're in the mood to do so.

Notable Items:

They may have any of the following with them at any time.

A scythe for harvesting wheat or 'souls' - it's a multipurpose tool.
a set of weights and a scale, feather sometimes included, other times Gamin borrows one from the area or a near by bird.
a small book and a pen or quill for note taking,
a lesson: depends on the situation and this may take many forms.
a whip.
a rope: length will vary.
a chisel and hammer, often when stone is near by in large enough quantity to write on, or Gamin may provide the stone itself.
a rake.
a shovel.
a sword.
a horse drawn carriage.
a car: if roads are common and wide enough, and the time period permits it. Though cars are not Gamin's usual mode of travel.
a boat: usually when there is water around for it to sail on.
a staff,
a treat: often used to comfort children or anyone who likes snacks - may be sweet or savory -
small chocolates and pretzels are common options.

It is unlikely, but not impossible, that Gamin would have all of these things at once somewhere in its robes.

Gamin having one thing then not having it and having something else is more common.

Q. What would happen if you removed Gamin's robe?

A. Hard to say for sure. Some have pulled it off to uncover a blondebombshell in a towel that screams at them and snatches the robe back and returns to Gamin's normal state. Others have grabbed Gamin's robe to reveal a balding bespeckled man in nothing but boxers, usually he doesn't need to take the robe back the offending usually gives it back themselves. And yet others yank the robe away to find nothing under it at all and a Gamin's disembodied voice asks for the robe back before returning it their usual form.

In short Gamin just looks like a giant Jawa, it is not a Jawa - note the size differance and color difference - only not owned by Star Wars.
