• Biography

  My Father was outcast from his Orc village for refusing to stand with the clan and their plans to attack peaceful halflings villages. He had an uncharacteristic trait of kindness and mercy. This disgraced his clan and his parents but none the less they convinced the clan that he not be killed for his treacherous actions and was exiled from his orcish home instead.
  
  Exiled, and bearing the orc markings of disgrace, he was banished to the wastelands where he survived for more than two years before he was captured by a human manned outpost. The humans recognising the markings on his dark skin and demonstrating he was clearly unlike other Orcs, the outpost spared his life and he became a valued member of the outpost using his skills in orc language and battle knowledge to help the humans foil orc invasions and attacks. Traders often came to the outpost bringing supplies and slaves for the troops. Despite language barriers he purchased an ordinary salve woman believing that he could offer her a better life then that of slavery. Whether it was her freedom she craved or the uncharacteristic compassion showed by this orc, she became devoted to him and eventually fell in love. They were forbidden to marry because of their differing races and backgrounds, so they decided to leave to find another place.
  
  I was born to travellers and explorers, at least that is how I remember my mother and father in my early years. We would travelling far to escape the injustices of the world for many years. My father taught me to hunt and defend myself as a youngster. Every day we moved to evade the marauding Orcish armies which were slowly but surely making their ways across the wastelands. We evaded them but not because my father was a coward. He was strong warrior but he knew there was a way for peace in the lands without the war.
  
  Eventually (when I was 6) we stumbled inadvertently onto an elven training camp hidden in the woods on the edge of the wastelands. Having been subjected to numerous orc attacks, their keen arrow found my fathers chest without warning. As he dropped to the ground I unsheathed my fathers weapon to confront his faceless murderer. I remember hearing the whizzing sound of an arrow as I instinctively moved my head to one side I remember seeing the arrow catch my cheek as it flew past. My mother threw herself over the top of me pushing us both to the ground on top of my lifeless father.
  
  Realising the woman was human the elves seized fire and after much deliberation amongst themselves, took in a grieving slave and half orc child.
  
  I haven’t forgiven the elves for what they did to my father, a sentiment I kept to myself over the years I lived with the elves. My scar, not a memento of victory of war but a reminder of that day when I recognised that internally we long peace but from the exterior we only see enemies that need to be destroyed. I don’t forget the elves selflessness in taking us in and training me to be a fearsome warrior with both blade and bolt, knowing that one day, any time I might use their teachings to exact revenge.
  
  When I was 16, the elven warriors enlisted my help to defend the forest. I fought beside them, as one of them, learning much about battle from the elves often using small numbers and stealth to overcome and defeat much larger groups of orc hoards.
  
  My mother kept herself busy mending armour and cooking eleven style food as a way of repaying the elves for taking us in. She thought we would see out days out in that camp. I had no such plans and left my mother, to seek my fortune as an adventurer.
  
  I am 21 now and have survived working for whoever pays the best.
