Biography
World-buildingThe afterlife is filled to the brim with different types of gods and demons. Spirits and ghosts. It is a scary place to some, and a rewarding one to others. Whether the over or underworld, both reside in a place above the sky, but below the stars, and is inaccessible to living, physical beings. While some believe Hell to be a place of creatures of pure evil, most of the time this is not the case. Hell is prone to having bad spirits. Why the demons are very heartless and cold, they are not complete monsters. They have feelings of happiness, sadness, and compassion as well. Of course, such emotions are repressed and rarely are put to light. They must be when torturing human spirits, one must be tough and difficult to make emotional in order to continue to be in that line of work for eons.
Angels are the same. Every demon that is created has a corresponding angel. Why is this? Because they must balance one another out. Two halves of a pure soul are split into two, and one demon and one angel are created using it. If an angel were to be made out of a full human soul, it would overthrow the gentle balance of an angel’s body. However, by splitting a soul into two, an angel is able to take the good, and a demon the bad. Gods have been around since humans have. Maybe longer. While yes, humans have yet to see a physical appearance of a god, many of them have seen humans. Creatures who are good at hiding are hard enough to spot, but hiding creatures with conscious minds are even more of a hassle. Long ago, gods used to rule over the earth as the most intelligent creatures. Humans, to them, were like cows or pigs. Pets to some, and food to others. Like the human race, some gods were against the devouring of human souls, and like humans, gods could not live off of nothing at all. A surprise, yes? Well, humans have animal meat as an almost essential part of their diets, and gods were the same. But unlike human beings, vampires had the ability to devour souls without cooking it. Like the present day, humans were lustful for equality. When humans began to grow stronger, they fought against their oppressors. They demanded the ability to be more than animals. And of course the gods refused, so the humans got aggressive. This prompted what is now known as "The Great Ascending War". Humans fought an impressive war then.
BackstoryA god who had predicted the outcome of this war, Mikoto Salmonji, had been praised for his work. He had the uncanny ability to predict the future. He was the god of Time and Knowledge. He knew very well this was going to happen. This praise led him to his most infamous title “God of True Massacre ”. He was labelled this due to two different wars taking place. While the humans did win this war, the number they lost was devastating. Mikoto's one and only job was the destroy the lives of the human shelters, where people who could not fight had been residing. Relentlessly, Mikoto tore apart the lives of these people. Mikoto was a weapon of war. He was created to kill after that. He was raised under the idea that humans deserved death if they defied their overlords. And so he kept that ideal.
But what would lead a man to do something so cruel? Well, gods were not kind creatures. They did what was best for themselves. It didn't matter if the humans suffered. Mikoto was one such god. The lives of the humans didn't matter to him. He felt cocky in that he could kill so many in such a short time. He was oblivious to the humans' suffering because he believed himself to be above them, as most gods did. Gods had powers far greater than what any human's wildest dreams. This made them egotistical. They believed they were the best of the best, and that nobody could take that from them.
But of course, this was greatly untrue. For, gods were creatures that feasted off of human souls. Mikoto cut their number down to nearly a quarter of it's size. Women, children, it didn't matter. If they were human, they died. Mikoto actively fought for most all of the war, but there was a bit of a problem. Mikoto was a curious individual. Being the God of Knowledge meant that naturally he grew interested in anything he didn't know. And someone threatened his intelligence. Cocky as he was, Mikoto wished to prove this human false. But instead, he was taught something that changed his whole view on the world he thought he'd known so well.
Current timeHe met a human man. He was an old man, that at the time didn't amount to much in Mikoto's eyes. He'd claimed, just as Mikoto raised his sword to slash open his throat, that Mikoto acted off a lack of knowledge. This stopped the god in his tracks. This old man had dared to question Mikoto's intelligence? He was the smartest god of them all! But the old man simply laughed at this claim. This infuriated the pink haired god. He'd never been so disrespected in his life! But could he go without learning this knowledge? For, if it made him stupid, he needed to know! But he opened Mikoto's eyes to the beauty of peace and tranquility, single-handedly turning one of the most frightening gods in the known country into a peaceful, loving character. But the question is; how? How could something like this be possible?It happened through a strange power of will. Determined to learn exactly it was that Mikoto didn't know that the old man did, Mikoto stopped his killings. He stopped in the midst of his bloodshed. He slowly put down his weapon and asked; "what? What is it that you know, that I do not?" And so the old man told him. Not through words, no, that would not give Mikoto the answer he was looking for. But through training. The old man trained Mikoto so well, Mikoto learned what he hadn't knew. He made Mikoto to trivial tasks, like helping people travel to different destinations, buying food the old man was too frail to get himself, playing with children in the makeshift streets of their Japanese village. And slowly but surely, Mikoto gained the trust of the humans in the village. But that isn't what you must be wondering about, surely. The real question is; what didn't he know? Well...it would be rather interesting to ask him that question yourself, wouldn't it be?
Abilites and Extra InformationMikoto has many abilities that play a large role on how he acts. His abilities actually don't tend to be the fighting style, and are more used in terms of healing. In fact, most all of his abilities are focused around healing, and time. Mikoto has very powerful self-healing abilities, as well as powerful healing abilities that are useful to others. In terms of magic, he is able to manifest many different things from thin air. It is not difficult for him to do so, though something cannot be made form nothing. Not even from a god.
🌸Mikoto has the uncanny ability to manifest things out of what seems to be thin air. Of course, as previously stated, he cannot make something out of nothing. Manifesting things into existence means he must use atoms and energy to create it. This depletes his atoms and energy. In the scenario where Mikoto manifests many things very quickly, or just one large thing, his atoms with will be taken, starting with his energy to his physical self. He would literally be losing skin.🌸
🌸Mikoto has the ability to manipulate time. This is one of his most taxing, though most powerful abilities. He has had this power for thousands of years, and so can reverse time back an entire 24 hours at maximum. He also can completely stop time, and if someone is touching him, they will still be able to move freely. On humans, this ability is deadly. The oxygen flow has frozen, meaning they cannot breathe. He can keep time frozen for as long as he wishes, but must keep his total concentration focused on the move for it to stay frozen. Speaking, even moving, isn't an option. This ability to reverse time has the potential to kill him if he reaches 24 hours, and so a safe limit is 2. Every second he keeps time going backward for, the weaker his muscles become. He could be potentially immobile in 24 hours. There are 86,400 seconds in 24 hours.🌸
🌸Mikoto, like most gods, live for a very long time. Their age does not have limits due to their self-healing abilities. Even so, to make up for this they must eat human souls. Mikoto is the god that consumes the most human souls, due to how taxing his abilities are on his body. The ability he has related to age is what he's dubbed Age Reversion. It's exactly as it sounds. He has the ability to make people younger. Funnily enough, this ability has no real set backs. He takes the energy and wisdom from the person he age reverts, and it becomes his own. He is slowly taking their soul, so it's simply a nonlethal way for him to eat.🌸
🌸In the situation where Mikoto is deathly injured, he has one of two options. One is to pass his knowledge and abilities on to a human being, where his legacy can prevail. This is a risk though, because if the human is too weak to take his powers, they will not only die, but his abilities and energy will be scattered and returned to the universe. If it does work, he just made a new god. This is how Mikoto himself became a god. A god who trusted him transferred their powers to him before they died. But this is a risky choice, and Mikoto has yet to find a human he trusts with his abilities. His second option is to return to his base form. When Mikoto passes his abilities on to someone, the abilities will nearly destroy the human's body. So the powers will sense that the human is near death, and will take the form of a tree. A sakura blossom tree. Mikoto, if he is going to die, can turn into a large sakura tree. In of course takes time to happen, but eventually it does. When the leaves scatter, he will regrow as a human being through one of those leaves. It's not only healing him, but taking him somewhere safe. If there is a sakura tree nearby, he can take refuse in the trees, and travel with the wind as a leaf. But he most be in the flowers to do this. 🌸
