    Samson is fair-skinned with straw yellow hair that falls several inches past his shoulders, though it is usually tied up and out of the way. He is usually covered in soot, or at least has a few smudges here and there, and is built strong and tough. His hands are rough and calloused, and his fingernails are almost always cut down to the quick. His eyes are a very pale blue, and his nose is slightly crooked from being broken in his adolescence.

    The clothing he wears is generally comfortable and plain, loose enough to be comfortable without getting in the way while he works, and all of it has seen better days. Unfortunately, he has no idea how to sew and no motivation to get the garments repaired, so he owns very few articles without some form of hole or another. In the hot summer months, it is not uncommon for him to forego a shirt entirely for most of the day, not just when he is working.
