North's origin begins at an orphanage, where she was selected for a series of projects by a corporation known as Enhance. The corporation known as Enhance was an organization known for creating projects that served to benefit mankind such as artificial limbs that repaired basic functions,"memory patches" that served to improve basic memory and knowledge, and functional body modifications such as strengthened arms, legs, and other physical enhancements, though the deal they made with the orphanage was still a back alley one that no significant authority figure was aware of.

North was chosen because she was the only child to stand up and attempt to defend the others from the attentions of the researchers. After being moved from the orphanage to one of Enhance's many facilities, she was subjected to a number of experiments designed to alter her mind and body, making her the "perfect human".

North spent several years at Enhance's institution with a number of other children(16), learning everything from advanced combat skills to how to function with an innumerable number of weapons, though the process also altered her mind and body and left with all of the benefits and negatives of enhanced muscle mass, a high functioning immune system, and a library level understanding of how to fight and disable humans.

North escaped when a lightning strike disabled the power systems Enhance was running, and fled as far as she could without thinking to save anybody. Her running brought her to the protection of the Others, a group of anthro beings that exist separate from human society due to the active prejudice that separates them.

North found a community with the Others who had also been mistreated by society, and spent several years hiding from Enhance(22). On hearing that the experiments were still continuing however, she felt guilt at leaving without going back to save everyone. Despite the insistence of those close to her, she traveled back to where she came from to deal with Enhance once and for all.

She fought her way through enhanced security, eventually making it to setting fire to the building itself. In the process of freeing the trapped experimentees however, she ended up critically injuring one of the friends she'd made while at the institution itself, South. Due to the fire she created, she was forced to leave without being able to save her.

North returned back to the safe harbor of the Others, where she spent several years working on the job that originally brought her there- car junkyarding(25). The fire had crippled Enhance's unfortunate experiments, or so she thought.

It was on a trip to the human side that she discovered a child in a disheveled state, barely conscious. During raising her to health, she discovered the existence of body modifications, the likes of which could only have come from Enhance.

Whereas before North had felt a deep sense of shame regarding Enhance, under the current circumstance she felt a burning sense of anger. She made it her mission to stop Enhance whatever the cost, though what she lost the first time during the initial assault, knowledge of how dangerous her actions could be, and the existence of something to lose prevented her from making a head-on charge like before. Instead, she took an indirect approach, building up a response center designed to address problems caused by Enhance while working to foil their plans in the most critical way possible.

Eventually North met East, and they (together with the child West) grew to became the biggest thorn in the side for Enhance. Between evading the existence of super soldier criminals that have suddenly popped up in the streets following Enhance's return, stopping a cross war between humans and Others due to years of racial inequality between them, and attempting to function both as a super soldier and an effective parent, there's never a dull moment.

Personality
North is defined by the responsibility she feels towards others. Whether it's her friends, her family, her community, or the people she's lost, she feels a deep sense of obligation towards making sure their lives are the best they could possibly be. Though she blames Enhance for her problems and is working her best to eliminate them, she also does community work, grows vegetables in a home-made garden in order to give to others, and makes sure that West is growing up in the most nornal way possible, and not being used as a weapon.

North is usually distrustful of people she's first met, though once you're in her circle you've garnered instaneous protection. She has no trouble re-arranging someone's skeletal structure if someone she cares about comes under substantial threat or harm, and with her heightened understanding of battle tactics, weapons knowledge, and combat abilities, she's usually under license to carry out that threat to someone's physical being.

However, North isn't violent by nature. To the opposite- she sees violence as a last resort, and often extols the virtues of talking through your problems to West. When she's not engaged in life or death circumstances, she's happy interacting with East and West, talking with her adoptive Other Mother, and living life as temporarily unburdened as she possibly can. However, she is infinitely aware of the circumstances her life is under, and knows that violence can erupt at any time. She has no hesitations about hurting others when the time comes to it, because she knows its the only thing between her and her life, but more importantly the only thing between her life and the life of others.

Powers and abilities:
Being experimented on has given North superhuman ability. She can punch hard enough to disable fully grown men, run for hours without losing stamina, and has an improved immune system that allows her to process a large number of poisons and diseases without harm, as well as help her heal faster from any injuries she might sustain.

She also has an extensive understanding of combat skills and weapon knowledge, to the level she can rival a master in any field in which she's aware of. Her knowledge of guns in particular is proficient to the point she can predict flight trajectories just based on the type of gun and ammunition used, and she rarely misses her target unless she intends to.

All of this has come as a byproduct of having her physiology extensively worked on with a product called Synthmetal, which is a nanotechnology designed to reinforce the human body via artificially enhancing muscles, memory, and a person's internal structures. The Synthmetal has given her all of these benefits, but has also had the side effect of poisoning her body system, extensively shortening her lifespan. She only has an estimated twenty years to live due to the effects of the modifications.
