Kamryn Razvan Trevett

Despite the land of Orytania standing still in time, the politics and machinations of human houses continued. Compared to some of the houses that survived the dying of the light and the centuries of plotting against each other, House Trevett was a baby at best. Cemented for a few generations, the trading house became noble when Kamryn's grandfather purchased land from a dying house on the outskirts of Orytania - the birthplace of many fledgling houses. Where many houses would only last a generation before having to sell their land, House Trevett was beginning to ingrain itself in the political landscape.
Lord Hygon and Lady Malora made a point of being seen at almost every social occasion they could scrape an invite too. Some of the oldest houses still withheld their invites, refusing to allow entry to those their considered 'common'. However, by most accounts, Hygon Trevett was the head a house to watch. With seven children, House Trevett was poised to forge some alliances and grow their position:
Naeva - The first born. Whilst a daughter was not the preferred first child, she was spoilt and heralded nonetheless. Quickly betrothed to a son of a far more powerful house, she often lorded her soon to come position over her siblings seeing it as a defining sign of supremacy. The lofty heights of her ego allowed her to detach herself, treating her sisters more like gossiping handmaids than kin.
Hygon - The one thing Naeva could never hold over her siblings was a position as heir. His mere name showed the growing ego and pride of the head of house and this only grew in his son. A soldier on show, he was trained from an early age to be impressive even when there were no wars to fight. Hygon's brothers became training dummies for both his blunt sword and 'harmless' pranks that would eventually help him plot amongst the houses.
Efran - Devoted to his brother, the bruises from Hygon's blunt sword felt more like symbols of approval to Efran. One of the duller tools in the box, he eagerly supported his brother.
Rodrik - Growing up watching Efran be used by Hygon created a fire to never be naive and full under someone else. This led to academics, becoming one of the smartest and sharpest members of House Trevett. Whilst his father would rather another soldier son, Rodrik could provide a useful tool for the House.
Thora - A quiet girl, she quickly learned that there were too many voices to try and shout for attention. She became insular, only hearing about her own betrothal when her elder sister used it as a tool to lord over her.
Elinor - Slightly simple, she was delicate and beautiful. What she lacked in the ability to plot, she made up for in the potential for a powerful alliance with a Lord looking for a young and pretty bride. This often led to the unfortunate attention of Naeva.
Kamryn - The youngest child and the last before Malora passed her childbearing years, Kamryn was largely left to his own devices. There were enough siblings for almost all uses. It was only when he was caught with a serving boy in his teens that his parents finally turned their attention on him. The fear of rumours destroying the house, plans were put in place to send him to the court of Orytania.

Whilst all houses had to swear undying fealty to the King, those sent to Court were expected to swear loyalty to the King first before their houses allowing a house to cut ties if need be. Furthermore, it wasn't unusual for courtiers to be executed at whim. Kamryn would die or advance their position with the king, either is a win in the eyes of House Trevett.

Views on the Undead:
With his father only being a lower/petty lord, undead servants were still seen as a slight luxury. The would almost strike at his childhood morbid fascination whenever he would be taken to social events at grander houses or even when he was taking into large settlements. Though faint, once his family paid a necromancer to allow them to communicate with their ancestors on an anniversary of his house. It was only as he grew older that the undead became less of a fascination and more of objects of pity for Kamryn.
Despite being dead and glassy, for Kamryn, their eyes always encapsulated unending pain and servitude that he could wince at imagining. Of course, to say anything about the undead that wasn't praise or condemning of a specific servant could be seen as dissent to a policy of the King - fear of which was drilled into every child in the Kingdom.
The King himself being undead was always a more light curiosity for Kamryn. Only ever seeing him at one of the very rare tours of the Kingdom, there seemed to be no overt suffering or servitude to his character. The form of death that inhabited the King seemed to be almost like an old begrudging or even close friend than that of a burden of curse.
