A mixture of flaming ego, hot temper, stubbornness, great personal charm and warmth, and a wit that shines through adversity. An irrepressible buoyancy, a vivacious spirit, a kindliness and tolerance for the common frailties of man and a feeling that 'it is time enough to bid the devil good morning when you meet him'. Mave is a massive alcoholic, often drinking when having the chance to do so and usually getting drunk because of it, though being somewhat able to sustain her wit. She is also somewhat of a glutton. She also appreciates how different human food is compared to foraging in the forest, especially how cooking changes it.
Mave possesses an exceptionally strong personality, regretting nothing in her life because she follows through on every decision she makes. She tries not caring about what other people think of her and is able to stay true to herself, believing that the worst thing a person can do is lie to themselves. Her core is like iron, strong but flexible. This kind of heart gathers many friends merely by being herself. Humble, courageous, proud. Despite her tendency to be brutal, Mave's halts before landing a killing blow. Through this, and though a violent fighter, Mave's actions hold honor. And though she can be brutal with words when telling advice, her words tend to be for the best.

The Tart has existed for centuries before Mave’s birth. Ages before steel was discovered, when bronze and iron were still popular existed a young enchantress. Her name was Ester. One day while foraging she came across a wounded wolf pup. But her efforts were in vain. She, lacking in knowledge and power, asked the “moon” for guidance. A potion forged from three silver drops from above, her own blood, and other materials lost to time. From there the pup took Human form and given the name Ulfa. Thus began Ulfa’s upbringing, traveling alongside Ester; Who taught Ulfa how to read, write, potions, and magic. Several years passed until Ester began her travels. Ulfa, familiar with various scents, aided Ester in tracking down various materials from flowers and creatures. So how did a potion seller and a wolf become the start of a warrior based family? That is another tell.
The Tart are an ancient family. A romanticized picture of the Tart labels them as noble savages. Other perceived views of the Tart as alternatively violent, bestial heathens. These Manblod, Moonblood, possess a warrior based society. Only the Herrcher (ruler) possesses crimson eyes. The bloodline has been passed down for ages, however, only upon completing a ritual does the next become the Hercher.

The Tart occasionally moved from place to place, territory to territory. As people who respected nature they moved to allow repopulation. Their people normally remained small in number. It was customary for a Tart to try luring a Human into their tribe as a mate, however, a Tart might also leave. Their Human mates were typically seen as shield-barriers, people who could stay at home to watch over youths or stand side by side on the battlefield. As the generations pass, we get into Mave Tart. She is the only child of the current alphas, Chester and Walnut, of their dwindling tribe.
