  Kat is a short human woman who looks to be about thirty years of age. She has chin-length chestnut brown hair and blue eyes, and is generally attired in jeans, a casual shirt and a well-worn brown leather flight jacket.
  
  Kat was the oldest of five children, and consequently her parents strongly encouraged her to get out of the house as soon as possible. She enlisted at age 18 in the Imperial Harmony Corps, where she was trained as a pilot and flew many successful combat missions against terrorist factions that were threatening outposts in the far corners of the galaxy. For over a decade, she built up a distinguished service record.
  
  Then, something happened. She isn't likely to tell you about it. Kat isn't in the Corps anymore, her name and myriad exploits have been erased from any records that normal people have access to, and she gets a little bit irritated whenever someone speaks of the Imperium in positive terms. In fact, doing so might earn you a swift kick in the pants.
  
  She has a real talent for ripping people off and instigating chaos.
