  • Description

    An understated gentleman, Norm strikes a balance of appearing humble to the well-off and respectable to working people. Though handsome, he isn’t so attractive as to turn heads; though polite, he isn’t so kind as to earn praise. His features and mannerisms are marked by moderation such that he leaves a positive if modest impression simply by being seen.

    To humans, his half elven ancestry can be latently noticed but possibly missed by the less observant. The curvature of his ears is slight, and his build is heavier than what one might normally expect for a half-elf, yet people who meet him often remark that they’d suspected his origins when told that his father was an elf.

  • Background

    Norm was born on a family estate outside of a modest town, to a mother with a financially secure family and a deadbeat father. After a tug of war between his parents, his father wandered back into the woods where the man really belonged, leaving his mother and the strict household to break any fey or free-spirited remnants of the boy’s personality. He grew up unfairly fast but was also mature and independent as a result.

    He grew up capable and gained work experience with the family business in addition to his education, learning how to manage people and processes early on. Eventually he discovered his family’s dark secrets; unable to reconcile those with his conservative upbringing, he did what he felt he had to do. After ensuring that he was the sole surviving member of the Chandlers, spent a few years securing the family properties and business for himself while also honing his diabolic magic. His patience led him to spend his young adulthood taking minor steps in his task to covertly fuel the Blood War on Toril.

    Only when he approached half a century of life did he begin to consider adventuring beyond his little corner of the Trade Way where he’d grown up. Even as the forces of the Nine Hells won a tentative victory over the Abyss, there were always mortals on Toril consorting with demons and thus stoking his desire for conflict.
