    • Personality: Calm and serious, yet haughty and arrogant. Quick to insult others, but just as quick to drop everything and help a stranger.
    • Mannerisms: Carries himself in a quiet, dignified manner. Has good posture and moves gracefully. Almost always frowning.
    • Nicknames: None... unless you want to make him angry.
    • Likes: Reading, caring for his pet moth, exploring new places, and enjoying the outdoors.
    • Dislikes: Large bodies of water, seeing others in pain, and being flirted with. Absolutely disgusted by vampires, necromancers, and musicians.

  • About

    Most of Taraviel's long elven life has been spent on the road. Healing people is his life's work, be it spiritually, in his capacity as a priest, or physically, with his healing magic.

    His markedly charitable soul stands at contrast with some stunning shows of arrogance. Taraviel believes himself better than everyone else, and that goes double for humans. He regularly makes snide remarks and strokes his own ego. Anger doesn't come to him easily, but he won't tolerate any disparaging comments towards elvenkind. Or even worse... jokes about elves. Such disrespect to his kind will often provoke his fury.

    Still, Taraviel tries to be a force for good, embody his goddess's compassion, and live up to a strict moral code... with varying success. He is a man of his word, ceaselessly honest, and willing to help those in need without expectation of repayment - these virtues come easily to him. Tolerance and forgiveness, not so much. And though his actions show his caring nature, his words often have the opposite effect.

    Taraviel's past is not as spotless as his present, a fact that he feels he must atone for. He did not always walk the divine's path, but rather had it thrust upon him during his time of need. As he explored the world, he learned of all the darkness and cruelty that existed beyond the limits of the small elven village he called home. A personal tragedy that occurred during his travels further compounded the melancholy that he felt, and left him without a traveling partner to lean on. He feels personally responsible for the event, the guilt of which still follows him to this day.

    In the wake of this, he found his divine calling and accepted it as his cause, now devoting nearly all of his time and energies into healing others. He's leaned into the role of divine healer perhaps too much - he's very tired and struggles to let himself relax.

    • Has a terrible fear of drowning that generally keeps him away from deep bodies of water, if he can avoid it.

    • Absolutely does not curse, ever, and often calls out others for doing so.
    • Firmly believes that soup is the best form of meal, vastly superior to sandwiches, roasts, and casseroles.
    • Lets his pet moth out of its jar every night while he sleeps and just hopes it comes back in the morning, as he believes it would be cruel to force the moth to stay with him against its will.

  • Appearance

    An elegant figure, lithe and lean, Taraviel towers at 6'7" tall... a height from which he can quite literally look down at most everyone else. His long black hair is a little on the unruly side, and worn combed back from his face. His pale golden skin, especially that of his gaunt face, is weathered from decades of exposure to the elements. A few creases have set in, but most noticeable are the ones between his eyebrows. He dresses in simple robes with little adornment, save for his goddess's amulet around his neck.

    The long and pointy elf ears are a source of great pride for Taraviel. He keeps them uncovered when he can, pushing his hair back behind them or leaving his hood down, to ensure everyone is well aware he's a full-blooded elf. Because how insulting it would be if anyone thought otherwise.
