General Appearance: Xalare dresses in what could be described as the most gaudy possible while still being practical. She favors sharp looking militaryesque uniforms, buttoned up shirts, pantaloons, hiking boots and flashy, but maneuverable coats. She adds that extra flair with a variety of musketeer looking hats, the bigger the better as far as she's concerned, and that goes to the wild plumes she tends to add too. She does favor tricorns because it's the best of both worlds, but she definitely has an obsession with hats and it is the item she owns the most. Despite all this, she's a little plain for a Lalafell, with fair skin, unremarkable light blue eyes and short lavender hair. To her credit, she stands at a massive 3'2 feet, which is considered quite tall for a female Lalafell. She's also in considerably good shape though that's not something that would be seen unless she takes off her layers upon layers of clothes. She has a very defined musculature and a lot of scars on her body from a myriad of duels and battles. Her face is that of a young girl but her body is that of an old scarred soldier.

Personality: Xalare is erratic in her personality. Whilst she tries to channel her noblewoman behavior as best she can, at heart she is a creature of the streets and she can be crass to the point of vulgarity. Fortunately she's very good at reading the room and she often doesn't blunder by bringing out the wrong personality to the wrong occasion. She'll keep her formal attitude to a refined meeting, whilst indulging in more rowdy behavior at a wild party at a tavern for instance. What is consistent however is her imperious personality. As it is often very common in Lalafells, she suffers from a Napoleon personality, in which she does not enjoy being belittled because of her height. Xalare though has taken it much further than most Lalafells and she actively starts fights if anyone so much as shows hints to be amused by how small she is. She'll fight at the drop of a hat and draw her blade and spells on just about anyone she thinks is not taking her seriously. This could be at a formal party or in the streets, it doesn't matter to her. Xalare has become rather addicted to rowdy brawls, and there's no place she rather be than covered in blood a top broken bodies. It is a pity because otherwise she would be a highly sociable individual but her temperament has kept her down all her life from accomplishing anything substantial, getting sidetracked by petty arguments and fights all the time.

Backstory: Xalare was born from the union of two very prominent Lalafell mages. Her mother was an outstanding White Mage whilst her father one of the most powerful Black Mages in the lands. Even at a young age, Xalare was already displaying quite the capacity for magic and it was clear that she'd become a powerful mage like her parents.

Unfortunately.. there was a big problem. Xalare really liked to fight.

As a child, Xalare would much rather get into a fight with -any- of her peers than keep to herself with a book as her parents hoped. Lalafells, being so small, were often at a disadvantage fighting anyone that wasn't another Lalafell, but somehow Xalare always managed to tip the scales by carrying a stick with her, which she always managed to conceal somewhere in her body. She was a natural at fencing, and combining speed, skill, magic, sharp reactions and relentless aggression, she quickly became a terror in her school- so much that it was her doing the bullying. No amount of preparation from her tutors could prevent her from managing to sneak some kind of stick with her, and as long as she had that, she could beat people well over twice her size.

While Xalare continued learning magic, things didn't get much better when she got older. Xalare liked to party, and she much rather be at the tavern, sitting on a pretty lady's lap whilst drinking a tall mug of ale, than studying. Her parents were disheartened that she would squander her gifts in such a manner and in an act of desperation they actively hired some adventurers to take her on a journey to see if actual combat tempered her personality a little.

This backfired tremendously. Xalare found that she didn't like combat. She LOVED combat. The thrill of battle was delicious and she was delighted to finally be able to use her blade along with her spells to take on actual foes. She soon became a Red Mage after her first taste for adventure and began exploring the world in search for more. Xalare's path would take her everywhere and she would take many unsavory jobs; she has been a mercenary, a soldier of fortune, a bodyguard, a bouncer for strip clubs, a gladiatrix, a hitwoman, and just about any profession that involved combat for money. Only her parents good teaching ever kept her from descending into fully evil tendencies, but she's quite a soiled dove nonetheless.

Experience Level: Master

Powers (at least 3):

Elemental Magic: While not as powerful as the pure potency of a Black Mage, Xalare knows sufficient elemental magic to keep up with most mages. She sticks to basics as they often work well enough and she can summon powerful versions of Firaga, Thundaga and Blizzaga.

Fencing: Xalare is an outstanding fencer and her small body is actually a boon with this style of combat. She is a very small, slippery target and most people for her a big lumbering targets which are very easy to pierce. She can weave and bob out of a lot of attacks, parry and riposte those she can't evade, and she's deceptively strong for such a tiny thing, meaning she can sometimes overwhelm an opponent by bashing her sword against their weapon until their guard breaks- particularly if her opponent is not expecting her to be so vicious.

Creative: Some people might call this 'cheating', Xalare calls it creativity. She'll win by any means necessary, even if it means employing tactics that some people might consider dirty fighting. She'll kick dirt at someone's eyes, stomp on their feet, punch them in the groin- absolutely whatever it takes, more so if it's a street fight. She actually goes a step beyond and uses her magic in very interesting fashion, she'll cast Fira on her hand and grasp someone with her off hand to burn them, shoot Thunda up in the air to flash them and blind then and blow cold wind on their faces with Blizza. When fighting Xalare is very important to establish some sort of rules, otherwise her opponent is liable to leave the fight slightly maimed.

Charming Rogue: Because of her good upbringing, Xalare is somewhat of a debutante and she knows all there is to know about being cordial and diplomatic in social settings, more so if its high class. Although she really dislikes wearing dresses, she'll act the proper noblewoman in high class situations and is generally very sociable. As long as she manages to reign her temper in she can be a joy to have around.

Toughness: Because of her insistence of fighting up close and personal all her life, Xalare has developed a lot more endurance than the average Lalafell. She can take hits to the face like an absolute champ, and blows to the jaw that would knock out taller and stronger warriors just make her grin, spit some blood out and continue fighting with greater passion. She has the pain tolerance of a brick.

Minor Magic: Aside from her elemental spells, Xalare can cast levitate on herself to float a few feet off the ground and she can cast mage hand so she can levitate things to her. She can only carry a certain amount of weight though and she can't really force choke people unless they're not resisting- she's tried.


Complications (at least 3):

Mad Because Smol: Xalare's greatest downfall is that has never been able to cope with the reality that she's 3 feet tall. She hates, abhors, LOATHES, when people remind her of this fact, and if someone so much as tries to treat her like a child it is enough for her to draw steel and start fighting right there and then. The worst part is that given the opportunity Xalare has actually turned down having her race changed into something else. In her mind, she's not the one that needs changing, its the whole wide world with their stupid perceptions that small = weak.

Alcoholic: Xalare hits the bottle. Hard. It's very hard to find her sober, whether this is to dull her anxieties or because she's just plain addicted it's difficult to tell. Nevertheless; she has a problem.

Crippled: A life of combat has not left Xalare unscathed. Her whole body is covered in scars and it can be very jarring seeing her without her jacket. More than just ugly, her right knee is shot and she walks with a slight limp. This doesn't seem to affect her running or fighting capabilities but it's very clear she can't walk properly without leaning on a cane.

Magically Inflexible: Xalare always favored raw damage and never really cared for anything that offered utility. While she can cast some very minor spells that let her levitate herself and other things just to make life a little easier, she, realistically, is able to cast only Fira, Blizza and Thunda.

Lost Land Complications: Tavern Brawler isn't really a job and someone ought to tell Xala to get a real job and stop being a nuisance.
