the Cheshire Cat

The Cheshire Cat is a large grey, long-haired cat with luminous blue eyes. He has blue stripes along his back and face, and a prominent grin. His eyes and smile, especially the smile, are often the first and last things one will see of him.

He has a slow, smooth manner of speaking, often using curious idioms and philosophical questions to prove a point (often a point no one else knows he’s trying to make).

The Cheshire Cat, is based on the character of the same name from Lewis Carroll’s Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland. He is a magical cat who can best be described as chaotic neutral. His first focus is and has always been himself. He is not often hostile, but is unlikely to help someone else unless there’s something in it for him.

He is a neutral party in Wonderland’s politics and events. While he tends to ally himself with the Red Queen, he has no real loyalty towards her or any of Wonderland’s other denizens. He considers himself to be close to the Mad Hatter and, later, Alice, but is not truly their friend.

The Cheshire Cat is unlikely to get close to anyone else unless he spends sufficient time with them. While he is capable of forming true friendships, it takes a lot of time and effort.

The Cheshire Cat has a number of abilities. He is highly intelligent and tends to know things he shouldn’t; can vanish and reform at will; float; detach his head from his body; and manipulate his appearence to look like others.

I write the Cheshire Cat based on the Lewis Carroll books, not on the Tim Burton movie - his appearence is, on the other hand, based on the Tim Burton movie. I do tend to cherry-pick from various other adaptions of Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland for what I consider “canon”.
