  • Heritage
    Paulina grew up in a mixed household. Her mother's ethnicity was mixed English, Scottish, and some German but overall just what would be categorized as "caucasian". Her father is Colombian, and was born into, and raised by, his Colombian family who moved to the US a couple of years before he was born. As he was, Paulina was raised and taught about her Colombian heritage, well-knowingly she would reach points of self-doubt and identity-crisis growing up in a "white" neighbourhood.

    Paulina considers herself a proud latina – most of the time.
    It's always been a recurring theme of her life; is she latina enough? Is she white enough? Somehow she always felt inbetween. She loves her parents and everything they've done for her to give her the life she's having, but people will always have an opinion about everything. Even her ethnicity, and she hates it.
    The boxes, she calls it. To be put in a box, being limited.

    Paulina was chosen in great unity by her parents. As they first laid eyes on their precious little daughter, they knew.
    Evy she chose herself after her mother's passing in honor of her memory. Her mother's middle name was Evylin.
    Mendoza is her father's family name.

  • Delicate
    Growing up Paulina always felt different. Alone. As if she had no place she belonged. Of course her parents did their best balancing everything, but somehow that wasn't enough. Paulina inherited her mother's anxiety to an extend where she barely spoke whenever she was around people she didn't know, because when she did she was mostly made fun of. For many years, being bilingual only complicated things. The closest she came to making friends were so-called "family friends" as in the children of her parents' friends, who seemed to only like her whenever their parents were around. Some part of her didn't mind as she just took what she could get from it. As in "friends whenever her parents were around" and time alone whenever they were not. This was her "normal" until theater finally opened her eyes.
