Bea had to wonder if whoever left her on the doorstep in a literal basket knew about the convent when they walked away on a rainy night. Did they know the deep history of the convent? The darkness that they worked so hard to keep at bay over the centuries? It was a rich history, and Bea hoped whoever left her walked away hopeful that the child would be safe. There was no group of women who would protect a left child more vehemently and more ferociously than the Sisters of St. Bruno.

Beatum Lucem they named her, A Happy Light. A blond, happy child with a voracious appetite for knowledge and mischief. Bea never desired anything other than what she had with the sisters. The sisters made sure to have the girl interact with the outside world, to serve the community. Now an adult, Bea runs the convent's library.

Both of them. The public, and the private.

If you ask what all the tattoos, she'll say she just loves the art, nothing about how they bind her own spirit, and give her the strength to keep the darkness that tries to creep into this world at bay.

She's an exorcist librarian raised by nuns, what's not to love? Modern era, but works in many others. Fantasy elements like demons welcome, but the presence will be not widely known. Open to women characters, non binary characters, not so much with male characters. She is not entirely human anymore, demonic influences. She is kind and warm, if not serious about her work.
