There’s no mistaking that Cara and Delilah are sisters, however plenty confuse Cara for being the younger of the two. For some God forsaken reason, Cara is two inches shorter than Delilah and her hair two shades darker. However, both share the same honey-brown eyes inherited from their mother. Cara's taste in fashion differs from her sister only in preferred colors. She wears darker, muted shades, but enjoys keeping up with the latest fashion’s available.

As the first middle child, Cara believes she holds some superiority over her sister Delilah. Constantly at odds with her, she always feels that she must be on her toes or else Delilah might knock her out of the "competition" completely.

However, the tense nature of their relationship has morphed into something a bit more relaxed as of late due to the recent events Cara and her younger sister jointly experienced.

Cara is often reticent, preferring to keep her thoughts and observations to herself. Her gentle nature is often mistaken as submissiveness but she is just as cunning and meddlesome as her younger sister if not more so.

Cara Anne Thorne was welcomed into the world in 1848 by her parents Charles and Edith as their third child and daughter. Three more daughters would be follow her before her father would desert his brood of girls. Cara and her sisters grew up in an affluent neighborhood of Chicago, Illinois with their mother and maternal grandparents. If not for Grandfather and Grandmother Wakefield, Cara’s family would have been destitute and living in the streets. Edith quietly petitioned the courts for an official divorce from Charles due to his abandonment.

When Cara came of age, she was sent to boarding school, just as her elder sisters before her, in Boston, Massachusetts. During her time away at school, her mother would find love and remarry. Hugh Stanbury was an estate lawyer, assisting the Wakefield’s, when he met their “widowed” daughter, Edith. Despite caution from her family, Edith and Hugh wed in 1863. Hugh, however, had his own dark secrets. Desperate to escape enormous gambling debts, Hugh moved Edith and her daughters to the expanding Wyoming Territory in 1864.

Hugh settled his new family in Cheyenne while he followed work all over the territory. Unfortunately, his gambling debts had caught up to him and he was caught and imprisoned. Edith, once again, petitioned the courts for a divorce, but it wasn’t long before the jilted woman found love once more. Henry Greene, himself a widower and without the blessing of children, would sweep Edith off her feet and welcome the family to his homestead just outside of Fort Hayton.

Having completed school at the age of seventeen, Cara finally reunited with her mother, sisters, and her new stepfather, Henry, the owner of a successful lumber mill. The man was jovial, affectionate, and most importantly, wealthy. Henry couldn’t help letting himself be wrapped around each of his new stepdaughter’s little fingers. Within two years of marriage to Edith, Henry had enthusiastically paid for Ada’s wedding and Belle’s college tuition as well naming all of his new family in his will.

Henry moved his brood of women north to the little town of Red Rock three years later. Life in Red Rock had been quite mundane up until the summer her sister got herself mixed up with an outlaw masquerading as a sheriff’s deputy. Before too long, Cara found herself disgusted with town’s corrupted lawmen and would aid her sister’s beau in fleeing the state. While Cara herself was supposed to reunite with her sister sooner, the sudden halt in communication from her own fugitive beau left her malcontent. Now, she has made the journey to be with her sister under the guise as her cousin and the pseudonym Catherine Wakefield.
