Nina served a long-running, sterling career as a beat cop within the CPD and readily earned her way into detective work. However, her time as a detective is marred by conspiracy and corruption. Allegations abound though no irrefutable proof ever found of her supposed guilt. She was considered a lone-wolf and played things close to the vest at all times.

The majority of her ascendancy and early success - known to few save for those that elevated her so, was the direct result of having an inside track with powerful bosses of the criminal underworld. Strings were pulled and the wheels of bureaucracy greased so that she could rise within the PD. She'd serve as a loyal informant and saboteur for her benefactors, usurping enforcement of the law to the advantage of the lawless at every turn.

While investigating homicide and narcotics cases she was given an inside track on how to cover her own trail, what connections to seek out, and who to pressure to better serve her own interests. She trafficked in murder, drugs, flesh; if there was a price and it was illegal, she likely had a hand in it. An unscrupulous individual down to her very core with more than her share of blood on her hands.
