Adrin Layegh

A tall man, Adrin prides himself looking professional and presentable to the public and the city he serves. Often clear of any stubble, he combs his hair and can be seen waltzing around town in his usual uniform with his hand on the hilt of his blade against his hip. For the most part, if he isn’t in uniform, he opts to wear his regular and casual clothes whilst on his days off.

Physique wise, Adrin has a leaner and muscular build due to his earlier days of working labour. Although now, he still tends to keep up with his health and fitness for the sake of the job and to keep healthy.

Stoic, reserved and fiercely loyal, Adrin may be considered typical when someone is asked to think of a ‘guard’ or ‘peace officer’. He tends to remain professional on the job, almost always taking orders seriously with little to no leg room. Because of this, many people would consider him a stickler for the rules, and possibly even hate or dislike him for it. However, if it’s one thing he doesn’t care about, it’s what other people think of him.

If someone were to get on his ‘good’ side, it wouldn’t be out of the ordinary for him to look the other way, depending on the situation, or perhaps even utilizing his authority or job to favour someone cares about (within reason of course). This of course, has yet to be tested.

Lawfully, he tries to do good in the world. He dislikes many criminals, including petty thieves, and would more than likely follow orders from superiors to the dot. If someone were to call him a lap dog, they wouldn’t be too far off.

In terms of a regular interaction, he’s respectful and speaks rather politely. He’s not one to shy away from a joke if the situation calls for it, and he tends to enjoy chatting up citizens and shopkeepers and ask about their day. He’s willing to lend a helping hand to those who need it, and even go above and beyond for those he cares about.

Growing up without a father, Adrin’s mother Viola was the only real adult figure in his life. Although the circumstances surrounding his father have mostly been left in the dark by his mother on purpose, as far as Adrin knows, he left when he was born. Because of this, his mother had to work twice as hard to put food on the table, and when Adrin was around 13 years old, he put his skinny body to the work and began to dig in a local quarry.

It wasn’t until when he hit around 26 years old, where he put the life of labour behind him, and enlisted himself to become a guard, despite his mother’s wishes. Now, not only is the money much better, but the backbreaking labour days are now put behind him. As of right now, he lives in a quaint cottage on the edge of town with his mother.
