Piper Whitaker is a writer who has begun to suspect that small, mundane things she writes tend to happen shortly afterward. Not anything dramatic or supernatural on its face - just inconvenient, awkward, deeply human moments. A spilled drink. A missed step. A stranger in exactly the wrong place at the wrong time.

She isn’t entirely convinced it’s her fault. It could be coincidence. Intuition. Bad timing. Still, she’s learned to be careful with what she puts on the page, keeping her observations light, observational, and mostly private. For now.
