Aearion

NAME: Aearion
In the Elven language of his ancestors, his name means Son of the Ocean.

GENDER: Male
He is unmistakably male, even though he looks exotic.

RACE: Mer
The Merfolk are a mysterious race. Both Mermaid and Mermen are known throughout the world, yet rarely seen on land. Their history is shrouded in mystery, though it is known they once owned great cities in the deepest depths of the oceans. Stories depict the Merfolk as malicious tricksters and sirens.

DEITY: Melora
Melora is the goddess of the wilderness, nature, and the sea. She is both the wild beast and the peaceful forest, the raging whirlpool and the quiet desert. Many Merfolk honor her, and Aearion is one of them. He prays to her every time he sets foot in or out the sea.

CLASS: Bard
Bards are the masters of the musical arts. They inspire people to great deeds and spread stories through song and poetry. Aearion is no different. He is prominent in the use of a lute, flute and has mastered his own voice, being an excellent singer and poet.

BUILD: Average
Though not toned, Aearion is still muscled, though nothing flex-worthy. He looks to be a rather skinny person, though he is wide shouldered, which makes him look broader than he actually is. His arms are of normal size, though his legs are quite long. In total, he stands at 1 meter 81.

AGE: 89 years old
Like their ancestors, the Eladrin, Merfolk live up to be around 300 years old and remain healthy during the entire lifespan. Aearion has nearly lived for a century, but still looks like a man who is around his mid-twenties.

HAIR: Deep purple
Aearion has got long and thick hair that reaches all the way to his lower back. His ears are covered by it and throughout his hair random strands of green seaweed can be found waving through, being either for show or holding his hair out of his face. On his face is also a purple colored and neatly trimmed goatee.

SKIN: Dark blue, scaled
Aearion's skin is difficult to determine in the dark. When damp, the Mer's skin is quite smooth and slippery, though it becomes rougher the dryer he becomes.

EYES: Green
Like most other races, the Mer do have pupils. Their difference lies in the eyelids. When underwater, the Merfolk have a second pair of transparent eyelids that act like goggles, protecting the sensitive eyes from water and allowing the Merfolk to see when underwater. It also gives them low-light vision.

ALLIGMENT: Neutral good
Aearion never thinks of himself a bad guy. He dislikes evil of all sorts, but finds himself having aided those who stand outside of the law, as well as those who act within it. As long as Aearion can do some good on this world, he cares not for whom he works.

PERSONALITY: Easy going
Aearion is a very social creature, not backing away from a talk, be it with farmer or high lord. He always tries to leave a good impression while still being himself. The Mer dislikes secrets and lies, but has accepted that both are fact of life and will lie should his or other's lives depend on it. The Mer has a certain degree of charm in his sentences, and loves adding wit to everything to make situations more enjoyable.

Besides that, Aearion is easily frightened, but like any bard, he dislikes showing fear and will act more brave than he truly is. Usually after his display of "bravery" he tends to regret said actions.

The Merman is not much of a subtle creature. This colorful individual likes being the center of attention. He knows he is of an illusive race, and embraces that fully. He wears a simple white, sleeveless cotton shirt and wears a leather long sleeveless coat over it, embroidered with variously colored seashells which also act as an extra layer of defense.

His pants are made of the same boiled leather, though have no special colors. They are simply dark brown. He wears no shoes, and his webbed feet walk free. On his calves are a pair of transparent fins. The same goes for his arms, which almost look as if he has a pair of blades sticking out of his upper arms. His fingers are webbed too, but very long, so they don't trouble him while playing an instrument.

On his belt hangs a one handed crossbow, which features a pair of fish carvedon each side of the handle. On the other side hangs a simple shortsword, while on the back of his belt are his bolts as well as a hidden dagger.

On his back is where he carries his instruments. His backpack is made out of fur, and from the side of it hang a pair of torches and his flute, carved out of the bones of a whale. The mouth piece looks like the head of a fish. Over his shoulder he carries a hand crafted lute made out of driftwood. It too shows many carved fish swimming up a stream. The instrument looks quite unique.
