  • About Miria

    This is a bit of an odd story, so I will start from the beginning... Miria is my fursona, and RP character, as much a part of me as anything else in this world... it may sound a bit strange, but I created this species through a 3D chat program called IMVU. The artwork you see of Miria is entirely done by friends of mine who saw my custom avatar, and decided to draw it. -Points to the name on either image of Miria/Me- You can see they put my username on the images there.

    Miria is still a youngling to her kind, barely into the "young-adult" stage in her lifetime (You can read up more on that below). And I honestly might as well stop referring to Miria as a different person, since she's me... I am a bit random, oft times clingy when it comes to people I feel close to, I overthink things a lot so I tend to get nervous or upset fairly easy, and I enjoy rolling around and generally being a couch potato~

  • Species information

    Species: Currently unnamed, they are a sub-species of Dragon.

    Origin: By chance, interspecies breeding between western and asian dragons (And possibly even humans through transformation abilities possessed by some of the asian dragons) over the course of several generations, lead to one of these diminutive humanoid dragons (compared to other dragons) being hatched, or born.

    The species expanded through mating with other humanoids, as well as smaller dragonic species like drakes, and Wyverns.

    Approximate height: Ranging from five and a half feet to a whole ten feet.

    Wingspan and Tail Length: The wings usually come to a little under twice the arm span. The tail ranges from a quarter of a foot, to two feet, longer than their legs generally are. Though these things can vary from one member of the species to another, as their features vary widely.

    Physical attributes, and natural traits: These creatures have incredible physical strength, much like the more common western style dragons spoken of in European legends.

    Though lacking scales of their reptilian brethren these considerably smaller and more humanoid Dragon-kin have their own natural defenses, their fur is coated in an oily substance secreted from the skin, which makes the fur feel thicker and softer, this also makes it rather tough to cut through, and impossible to burn, a natural defense against their own fiery breath.

    Though a majority of the species is covered mostly in fur, they have many small scales as well, usually covering the wings and around the base of the limbs themselves, providing efficient protection to the outside of their sensitive wings, the inside is uncovered, and quite sensitive. Though some of the species have scales on other parts of their anatomy, it tends to vary widely as with most things with their species. Though males tend to have more scales than females.

    The color of their fur and scales seems to have no relation to the parent, and varies from a solid color, to intricate designs, sometimes even something as odd as polkadots, or stripes. (Note: Miria's pure white fur and scales are somewhat of a rarity.)

    The Bones of these fire-breathing furballs are nearly unbreakable, in order to withstand their own physical strength, their fangs and claws as a direct result never dull or rot. Their claws are not retractable, leading to some slight difficulties when dealing with creatures not of their own kind.

    Other than retaining the egg-laying reproductive system of their scaled cousins, these creatures for the most part have similar inner workings to those of normal human beings, the most notable difference being chemical glands in the back of their throats which produce the flame they use as their main offensive. They require Internal Fertilization in order to reproduce, though the chances of even a healthy female producing a fertile egg are slim, an unfortunate trait they inherited from their scaled cousins.

    Their eyes can adjust to see in the dark, or light, and even in murky water, much easier than any other Dragon breed, making them more efficient at adapting to various situations. They are incapable of being blinded, or losing their sight over time.

    Though they look as though they mature quickly these "Furry Dragons" live for hundreds, if not thousands of years, but their bodies reach maturity very quickly, and then retain their young-adult form for about a hundred years when they reach full adulthood, at which point they begin to look a little more dragon-like, their claws, fangs, and horns becoming more prominent. Males of the species achieve adulthood much faster than the females, at which point they become more territorial, as well as aggressive in general.

    The male adult of the species can produce a special kind of flame, which burns much hotter than that of the females, capable of melting steel with relative ease, they tend to not use their flame for hunting, so as not to risk turning a potential meal to a scorch mark.

    You can tell when a member of their species is about fifteen years of age when their horns have begun developing, reaching the peak of their young-adult stage around twenty to twenty five.

    Their habitats, and behaviors: 'Where' they live tends to vary from one member of the species to another, as they are all of different preferences, but no matter where they choose to live, they almost always carve, or dig, a den for their nest. Even those who have opted for human society still prefer the basement over the penthouse.

    For the most part members of the species tend to settle down in a place that suits their fancy, though some still prefer to wander, flitting about from one new landscape to another. Females usually give up traveling if they find a potential mate, while the males don't seem too interested in traveling to begin with. It's possible that the species' interest in exploration is simply their instinctual desire to find a mate.

    Similarly to lions, the females tend to do a majority of the hunting, though more because they can safely use their flame, more out of convenience, than it is about who is in charge. Though a male will join his mate on the hunt unless they have an egg to tend to.

    Oft times the females will share a male, due to how few there are in the species, and how rare it is for one of their kind to produce a fertile egg.

    This species tends to use their tails in specific ways to display emotion, as well as coiling it around their thigh to show submissiveness, or around another's thigh to show possessiveness.
