  gay – he's been raised very strict and religious, so he's always thought that part of himself is kind of wrong and not good, so there's a lot of self hate that comes out of this fact for a long time, 'cause he's convinced there's something wrong with him, not only the magnitude of the desires he's fighting with but the direction they lead – that is, other dude's butts. So his self esteem isn't the best at all, he kind of thinks he's this weird abomination
  he's very polite, almost to the point of bluntness, which sometimes leaves him coming off as rude, even though he's actually a decent and fairly friendly guy and he wants to be a good guy. Though it's fairly often he takes things the wrong way and he can get offended pretty easily. He's stoic and a bit closed off, but never outright an ass, he'll generally give you clipped one word answers if he doesn't know you.
  
  alright so this guy is very conservative, disciplined, especially when it comes to his sexuality and sexual relations and all that, very abstinent from a young age – abstinent to the point where he's never had a boyfriend or girlfriend or anything – hasn't ever had sex, has never held hands, nothing in a sexual or romantic light. I mean, ffs, the poor guy has never even masturbated properly – always freaks out and feel guilty before he really gets anywhere.
  
  And this is where the whole patience thing comes in: he has near inhuman levels of self control. He's doesn't avoid sexual and romantic relations/activities because he doesn't feel the urge – 'cause holy fuck does he ever feel it – no, he's just been raised very conservatively, and has an incredibly strong moral sense of right and wrong, at least as it pertains to him. He's not really one to be judgmental of other people and the way they conduct themselves, his moral code only applies to himself, and he rules it with an iron fist. After the whole ghost attack thing, though, and after he got his powers, he's been feeling that lust much stronger, and he's had to rein himself in even more, so he's gotten a bit more withdrawn, because he knows if he doesn't keep himself that way, his resolve will shatter to pieces LIKE HIS SELF CONTROL IS BEYOND WHAT ANY NORMAL PERSON COULD HANDLE THIS LITTLE SHIT YOU HAVE NO CLUE

  whew alright so he lived with his family – mom, dad, younger sister – he had remained at home to help take care of his mom who had been pretty sick for a long time – anyways, ghosts attacked, killed his whole family, but he managed to metabolize one of the bastards, so he wakes up dizzy and shit in this house and everyone is dead around him and he can barely remember what happened and he's just broken inside and crying and it's really awful, okay? Cause family was really important to him despite all the religion and self hatred because of it, his family was actually pretty supportive (though they didn't know he's gay, hell, he barely understands it himself)

  he's aware of all the religious persecution around those 'infected' by the spirits (just one more thing to add to the whole self hate business because wow now he really IS this impure thing tainted by evil spirits man) and all this just compounds because the whole lust business just increases exponentially so now he's this gay demon man who just wants to fuck/get fucked even though he's not sure what these urges mean and it's horrible because he knows better than all this and his body is betraying him in the worst ways possible and he just really hates himself at this point
  
  SO he gets these black contacts to hide his eyes and his shame and now he's just lying to himself and the public AND HE'S JUST REALLY NOT IMPRESSED WITH HIMSELF
  
  so he was left with some money and all and gets a job as a bartender at a local bar because he needs the cash, and honestly he could use the tips too. But yeh because of his power he ends up getting hit on a lot by various people and it's really hard on him and he can feel himself crumbing but he knows he's strong enough to resist and he manages to keep this tenuous thread of control and puts up more emotional barriers between himself and other people and it kind of helps
  
  so yeah anyways this kind of brings us to pete
  
  pete has been his friend for god knows how long – since they were young children
  pete has kind of been his antithesis his whole life – non religious, bit of a rebel, loose moral code – but honestly jahmae really liked that about him because it brought him out of his conservative little shell and taught him to live a little and that maybe it was okay to not be so self restricting
  and they grew up together and pete started to look, well, appetizing, and it confused the hell out of jahmae 'cause really, he 'shouldn't' be feeling this way and boy was it wrong but goddamn was pete ever a hot piece of ass and holy fuck do you see his piercing and tattoo and yeh – though pete didn't consider jahmae as a possible relationship because they had been friends for so long and pete just thought of him as a friend
  
  so these feelings kind've make jahmae pull himself back and bit and keep his distance, and although they still talk and hang out all the time there's this weird rift between them and they can both feel it but they try and ignore it the best they can
  
  pete's claw accident happens at some point in here, pete changes a bit, becomes more of a personality opposition to jahmae, but honestly it just endears him to jahmae more, and he has to be there for pete more than ever because he's going through a really depressive period
  
  he's finding he's listening to pete more and more otften ('cause of his new power woah)
  AND THEN HOBOY jahmae has his ghost accident and it's the worst fucking thing, and he doesn't tell pete because he's scared what pete would think of him and that it might change their friendship even though it prolly wouldn't 'cause pete is really chill about all that stuff
  
  because of the accident and the powers jahmae gets (he's unaware of them, just knows that something is off) pete all of a sudden is like godDAMNIT THIS MAN IS THE BEES KNEES and can't stop eyeing him and it's weird as hell for him because jahmae should just be his friend right?
  
  Anyways him and pete have some sexy time but I won't get into that here. o vo Pete may or may not use his powers on jahmae, and it leads to a little.. animosity. Jahmae doesn't talk to him for a bit
