• Description

  This tall, fiery vixen may have the red hair and orange fur of an outgoing personality, but her hazel eyes are narrowed, and show a woman of cold, hard steel, and a soul worn out by the harshness and brutality of her chosen career. Her dress is of a simple design, and only slightly darker than her hair, and devoid of any unnecessary ornaments, like jewels or bangles. The only things that could be considered ornaments were two holstered, single shot musket pistols, one decorating each hip, and loaded, ready to shoot. Also with her was a small briefcase, and an umbrella, with a sharpened tip. Each step she took was quick, but purposeful. If you happened to ask what she was doing here, she would give you her business card, quietly telling you she was a freelance investigator.

• Biography

  Born out of wedlock, this fiery vixen was a soul forged secretly by two different lives. One was the wife and eventual widow of an accomplished businessman, who died of consumption just a few weeks after his lovely and radiant wife was discovered to be pregnant. The other was from a courier, a kind man of humble means, and a humbler roost. Thankfully, only these two passionate sinners knew the truth, and were able to avoid any scandal surrounding the birth of this girl.
  
  While growing up, Temperance proved herself intelligent, curious, and rather adventurous. Often was the time she would sneak out of the safety of home, to explore the rougher areas of London, and see sights many would call unseemly, or of poor taste. And, as always, she would be ushered home by the same kind courier, who seemed to know her rather well… almost too well.
  
  But, she did not grow up blind in her naivety. Eventually, she saw the horrors and evils of both the nobles and the commoners. She escaped and ran from the savage predators of the dark, brutes from the slums who catered to their primal needs. She also learned to watch out for the vipers and snakes of polite society, of the betrayals and intrigue formed of greed and prestige.
  
  Sadly, both her guardians died of a disease that seemed to sweep the city for a time, though both corpses were separated and handled with differing care. One was sent to be burned in a pyre outside of the city, and the others was buried next to her husband, with respect and dignity. The young girl, now a woman, found herself with a respectable amount of money, but alone, with an uncertain future.
  
  Though, tragedy only claims the souls of those that allow themselves to be consumed, and this woman proved she had the will to move on, and seek her own life and path. Truly, unable to fully fit in either end of British society, having tasted both the sweet and bitter fruit of both trees, finally chose a career that would satisfy her adventurous spirit, and let her walk the dividing line between both orchards. She would be a private investigator, a snoop for hire. An odd choice for a woman of the Victorian age, but Temperance was not a usual woman.
  
  For over a decade, she pursued this lifestyle, and while she enjoyed the work, the stress and dangers of the job hardened her, hammered out most of her care and feelings, creating a cold woman, with a spirit and will made of the strongest steel. Her methods of questioning improved, but also got harsher. Eventually, she no longer feared death and no longer hesitated to deliver it when needed.
  
  And yet, she descends. Slowly becoming more interested in money and results, and losing all concern about humanity, mercy and compassion. No one can tell how much further she will fall into this pit of selfishness. Perhaps there is no escape for her…
