• Biography

  Arianna is the half sister of Sir Percival, one of the knights of the Round Table. Her mother, Helena, lived in the village of Mithrien, to the east of Camelot. Percival was the son of Helena and Elmont, however Elmont was killed in a farming accident. Several years later, Helena met and fell in love with a druid man named Rowan. They were married, but while Helena was pregnant with Arianna, Rowan fled Camelot because of the laws against magic. Helena never saw him again. When Arianna was born, she was born with pure white hair and purple eyes. This was the result of a mutated gene from her father's DNA caused by the magic he possessed. When she was born, many people feared that she was cursed or bewitched because of her unusual hair and eye color. Helena, fearing for her daughter's safety, entrusted her to a band of gypsies so that Arianna wouldn't be under suspicion of having magic. Arianna grew up with the gypsies, never knowing that she was adopted. The gypsies named Arianna and gave her the family name of Estel. When Ari was ten, her gypsy parents told her of her true heritage and explained that her mother only wanted to keep her safe. Ari had discovered that she had magic at an early age and the gypsies encouraged her to learn everything she could about it. She learned that she could heal people, and focused on that. She tried to do other things with her magic, but she discovered that her healing powers were the strongest. She carefully cultivated her skills in healing with her gypsy mother who was a healer as well, only a non-magical one. When she was twelve, a slave trader named Caldur attacked their gypsy train and annihilated them using black magic. Those he didn't kidnap he tortured and killed. Ari and her two friends were kidnapped and held as slaves. They were forced to perform for Caldur and his guests. Ari's two friends didn't last long. They both pined away and died from mistreatment and grief. Ari refused to give in though. She swore to get revenge on Caldur, or die trying. She was a slave for eight years, until Caldur made a trip to Camelot and entertained the king and his court. Merlin discovered that Ari was the same little girl who he used to be friends with back in Ealdor and the two were overjoyed at finding each other again. Ari tried to escape from Caldur with Merlin, but Caldur captured here and tried to kill her. But Merlin rescued her and incapacitated Caldur. Once the king discovered Caldur had done, he freed all of Caldur's slaves, including Ari. Ari chose to stay in Camelot with Merlin and Gaius and help Gaius with his physician practice.
