• Physical description, etc

  He's an impressive specimen of a Rapidash stallion, well-built and muscled, without being totally ripped, with eyes like a pair of smoldering coals. Ilyg's clothing choice tends toward all leather, badass image, and he usually does nothing to dissuade that image. The Rapidash is considered to be a bit of an ass, constantly sarcastic, and seems to have a chip on his shoulder the size of Kyogre.
  
  Sometimes, though, if a person is very quiet, they can sneak up on him and hear him humming almost cheerfully as he worked on his bike. Who knows what else he has a soft spot for...?
  
  Ilyg is a crowd favorite in the professional battling circuit, and has the scars to match. His chest bears the majority of these scars, the largest going roughly from his right shoulder to his left hip. There are other scars, in various places on his arms and legs, but the chest scar is one he bears with pride, and shows off at his other job during the off-season.
  
  A few lucky ladies have seen him in all his glory, and have seen various OTHER markings - namely, a birthmark on his backside that's a rough heart-shape.

• Family History

  Ilyg is the most recent battler in a long line of Ponyta and Rapidash champions, but that doesn't always pay the bills. Yeah, he's proud of his heritage, but everyone has always expected that he'd be a battler - it was what he was raised on, taught, and practically lived on for the majority of his life.
  
  Before that, his family was a producer of high-quality coal in the northern territories. The family Koehler is from a desert environment, but moved to the snowy northern territories several generations ago, and made a living out of providing coal to the local smithies, eventually figuring out how to create the highest-quality coal ever seen in the area.
  
  It's a family legend that a Xatu seer that his family had been hired to escort across the shifting sands to a particular temple foresaw that they would soon fall to ruin unless they fled north and made new home there. The prophecy was nearly forgotten, until it was discovered that a nearby Houndoom clan had slowly been preparing to attack the Koehler family and take over the business they had managed to find. After a long, drawn-out battle, the Rapidash family won, but not without cost, and so they packed up their belongings and headed to colder climes.
