• Biography

  The Longtooth Shifter clan of Kildens Wolves was once a group of wandering nomads from the far north. They were well known for traveling from one place to another as the seasons changed and game migrated through the region, trading with cities and towns all along their journey’s route. That was until a great winter storm came upon the nomads, endangering their lives. The clan guardian, Shaman Ash Greatwolf, had sent several scouts ahead of the group in search of shelter, all the while he prayed for a sign from spirit world. What, Ash Greatwolf, received instead was a great blessing for him and his people.
  
  The clan’s most favored scout, Frost Wolftracker, had located the ruins of what appeared to be a massive tundra empire. Many of the empire's buildings had stood the test of time, although some of the buildings had fire damage to them. The Kildens Wolves clan would find long forgotten maps and star charts of a civilization that had clearly been noted for its advanced knowledge of geography and astronomy.
  
  Thanks to Warden Frost Wolftracker, the Kildens Wolves clan went from being nomadic wanderers to being settlers with a home to call their own. A home they call Wanderer's Hoarfrost, in honor of their past as nomads and the fierce winter storm that forced them to find shelter that fateful day.
  
  Traditions
  Kildens Wolves Naming Rituals
  The Kildens Wolves use traditional Shifters first names handed down through the generations of the clan. When a child is born into the clan, they remain nameless only referred to as (Father’s name) youngling until the first frost day of the youngling’s fifth winter season; when the Elders of the clan choose an appropriate name for the youngling. In the past, during the nomadic days of the clan, the Elders allowed the younglings to choose a Human name on their fifteenth winter season, which is easily accepted by the other races. This practice is in disuse and is severely frowned upon nowadays by the clan .
  
  Traditional Male Names: Ash, Brook, Claw, Cliff, Flint, Frost, River, Rock, Storm, Thorn, Tor.
  
  Traditional Female Names: Aurora, Autumn, Dawn, Hazel, Iris, Lily, Rain, Rose, Summer.
  
  All Kildens Wolves Longtooth Shifters possess a second name, and while the first name is chosen by the Elders, the second name is not. To gain the second name, a clan member must prove themselves in the eyes of the Elders and the clan as a whole. The clan member must complete a task; or do an impossible feat or something extraordinary to impress the clan. In one case, a hunting party of the clan brought down a large snow panther that had been ravaging the clan’s elk herd, five of the party had no second name, and on that day they received the second name. of Pantherkiller.
  
  Kildens Wolves Shamans tend to receive their second name based on their spirit guide.
  
  Clan Ties
  The Kildens Wolves clan is lead by the strongest of the clan; they are referred to as Guardian of Kildens Wolves. Guardianship of the clan is decided by a series of trials that determine the strength of the male in body, mind and spirit. If the current guardian is found lacking in any of the three categories, they are removed from the leadership position and any male may try for guardianship.
  
  The clan guardian is supported by the Elders of the five founding castes of the original Kildens Wolves clan. The castes of the clan determines where a clan member will spend most of their lives to serve the clan best as well as their title in life.
  The Warden Caste; are men and women of the clan who protect the clan at all costs. Clan members’ matriarch determines the joining to the Warden Caste. The Elder from the Warden caste is; Warden Tor Swordfang.
  
  The Shaman Caste; the magic users of the clan are taught the arts of nature and magic. The Shaman Caste is the only caste that does not use the matriarch system to determine status; those with the strongest ties to spiritual world join this caste and only thus caste. The Elder from the Shaman caste is; Shaman Iris Firebear.
  The Hunter Caste; are the providers of food for the clan. Clan members’ matriarch determines the joining to the Hunter Caste. The Elder from the Hunter caste is; Hunter Thorn Cuthare.
  The Druid Caste; are those that provide clan with everything needed to keep the clan healthy. They do this through the use of Drudic magic and healing herbs. Clan members’ matriarch determines the joining to the Druid Caste. The Elder from the Druid caste is; Druid Dawn Potionseeker.
  The Keeper Caste; the clan member here are in charge of safeguarding the clan’s secrets, knowledge and everything of value to the clan. Clan members’ matriarch determines the joining to the Keeper Caste. The Elder from the Keeper caste is; Keeper Storm Crystalflask.
  
  The Fledgling Caste; while not one of the founding clan’s castes, this caste has just as much importance as the five founding ones. The Fledging Caste is where all younglings are taught the various ways of the clan until they reach their tenth winter season and join their matriarch’s caste. The Fledgling Caste is where more often than not, a youngling will find their bond mate.
  
  Familial Blood Ties
  Kildens Wolves younglings once born are referred to as their father’s name youngling until they are named. For instance, in Aurora’s case, she was Warden Rock Gorgerun’s youngling and it was Rock’s ancestors’ that determined Razor’s name. While it may seem like the patriarchal tie is the most important since of what the youngling is called until they are named but it is actually the matriarchal side that determines what part the youngling will play within the clan.
  
  Aurora’s background
  Aurora was born into the Kildens Wolves in the winter months, an uncommon time for the year for a Longtooth Shifter birth.
  As Aurora grew, it would become apparent why she was born in the winter months. She wasn't a Longtooth but a Razorclaw Shifter.
  During the spring months, a group of Razorclaw Shifters had spent time with the Kildens Wolves clan helping to translate the old texts the founding forefathers had found when Wanderer's Hoarfrost was created. The leader of the Razorclaw group was a powerful shaman by the name of Talon Thunderstorm and had been seen spending a fair amount of time with Aurora's mother Druid Rain Stormchaser.
  
  As Aurora grew up, she was treated differently then the other younglings and not because she was a Razorclaw born in a Longtooth clan, but because of her strong connection to the spirit world at a young age.
  
  This overly strong connection would place her within the Shaman caste well before she was supposed to be. Her mother was not pleased with this but the clan mattered more than the individual so Druid Rain Stormchaser's concerns were put to the side and Aurora began her Shaman training shortly after her naming ceremony.
  
  Aurora would end up being raised by the Shaman caste, something unheard of but the caste was more than willing to do just to train the youngling and mold them into the greatest of their caste to date. The Shaman Caste would not only teach Aurora the shamanic traditions of the Kildens Wolves clan but the translated texts of the long forgotten civilization that Wanderer's Hoarfrost was based upon.
  
  Young Aurora enjoyed the learning and the training, something many of the other young Shaman weren't fond of. This is probably why her Spirit Guide ceremony came in her fifteen winter season. Traditional Shaman training takes twelve winter seasons before the Spirit Guide ceremony can be held and only if the clan has the food reserves to throw the celebration party for completing the ceremony. As it stands most Shamans are already into or past their twenty second winter season when they do their ceremony.
  Typical spirit guide animals that Kildens Wolves Shamans receive are: timber wolf, dire wolf, arctic fox, desert coyote, grizzly bear, polar bear, and ice dragon.
  
  Aurora ended up with an large white tiger. This wasn't an expected outcome since Shaman Iris Firebear was sure that Razor would be the first Shaman to receive the dire wolf since the clan's greatest Guardian Shaman Ash Greatwolf. Iris had been secretly grooming Aurora to take the Guardian role of the Kildens Wolves because a Shaman hadn't been a Guardian in quite sometime. If Aurora had received a dire wolf as a spirit guide she would have secured the backing of the rest of the castes' Elders for the Guardian role.
  
  Aurora was pleased with her Spirit Guide, in truth, it was the first thing that belonged to her that wasn't Longtooth Shifter in origin. She was proud of her Spirit Guide, but she'd never say that to anyone in her caste. She also received her second name shortly after her Spirit Guide ceremony, Snowtiger.
  
  Her spirit guide would open her eyes to her unspoken Razorclaw heritage, and awaken a long buried desire to wander and explore. This desire to explore was also fueled by urge to find her birth father and his clan, a place she would actually belong in.
  Aurora spoke to her mother about leaving the clan in search of her father; Rain Stormchaser wasn't surprised to hear this, she was pleased with this and encouraged Aurora to head south. Rain knew that Talon's clan was from the warmer climates and generally hated the cold, and that Talon would welcome he's wayward offspring.
  
  The young Shaman copied several scrolls and texts on the subject of the spirit realm and a number of ancient shamanic traditions before she left. She wanted to be prepared for the long journey ahead of her. And after procuring a map of the world, Aurora felt she was ready to leave once she had gathered enough supplies for the beginning of her adventure.
  
  Thus Aurora Snowtiger started her journey with an end goal in mind and a new name to begin a new life with; Razorclaw Frostsaber.
  
  As Razor journeyed in search of adventure and her father's clan, she began to tattoo shamanic symbols in blue dye all over her body. The symbols tell the story of her clan, of Wanderer's Hoarfrost beginnings, the story of her parents and Razor's life story from her birth to present day. And if one looked carefully enough, they might even see shamanic rituals craved into her skin beneath the tattoos.
  If her Spirit Guide is out, Razor's tattoos glow a soft ocean blue color. The flow is sustained by her Spirit Guide's connection to her and if her Spirit Guide is sent back into the spirit realm, the glow abruptly dissipates.
  Razor privately refers to her Spirit Guide as Father Tiger. Publicly she refers to him as Great Forefather, which is a common practice among Kildens Wolves Shamans.
  
  Since Wanderer's Hoarfrost
  Razor's life since leaving Wanderer's Hoarfrost, she been open to trying new things at least once just to experience something different. Some results are less than stellar but have been fun to try once and sometimes once isn't enough and must be trusted and tried again.
  
  Razor will spend time in a village using her Shaman abilities to help people out or to make a little gold for food and a bed for the night. And there are times when nothing but the sounds and smells of nature are the only comfort she needs.
  She's open to trusting people from the get go but if you cross her or act against her Spirit Guide, be prepared for claws and teeth.
