The Nightingale

• Name

  Svea Ever-Green. The name may be Nordic in origin, but the wearer is a Bosmer. While working a job, such as impersonating a maid to gain information, a common alias for Svea is Irwaen Bluebrook.

• Description

  The first thing that one might notice is that Svea's a short Bosmer, standing at about 5'5. Her torso is shorter - making her legs long in comparison to the rest of her body, and of course then her figure would be compact. Still, her body is distinctly an hourglass type shape - she comes in at around 130 lbs. Most people move to her face next. Heart-shaped, possibly considered cute, such as a kitten. The cheekbones are positioned rather high and are prominent, and lead down at a steep angle to a sharp chin and narrow jawline. These features give Svea the impression of a lingering smile. Her eyes are almondish-round, deep set and a golden honey color. Positioned not far above them are thin, rounded off eyebrows, which are more of a chocolate color. They come together to meet a small nose that slants down and then turns up at the tip. Not in a snobbish way, more innocently. Her lips are full, going against how the rest of her face looks. A single, dark freckle appears on the left side of her face, above her eyebrow. Really, it can only be noticed if one were to look for it. The tone of her skin is on the lighter side of a warm brown - not tan, yet not fair either. There is a leaf green tattoo running down the left side of Svea's face of unknown origin. Even she hasn't the slightest clue where it came from. Svea has healthy yet thin, straight, chestnut brown hair, that goes down to her shoulders. Normally, it is left down. If she were to decide to speak to you, it would be seen that her natural voice is silvery; clear, distinct, and pleasant. However, depending on how she feels towards you, she might alter this to get a different effect or impression. Finally, she looks young - this is an illusion. She's really 278. This is possible because of a slight incident in her past.
  
  A bow crafted of the bones of animals is her choice weapon. This bow is very old - made for her by a family friend at a very young age. It has served her very well. This bow of hers is paired with any arrows she can find, usually steel. If things do need to get violent, she has a sword forged of ebony. It's a very unique sword, different from every other blade of its kind. It's called 'Midnight,' a serrated blade with a hilt made of both ebony and the bones of animals. It's enchanted with the ability to absorb a moderate amount health. Her armor is that of a Nightingale. Not only does it help her become one with the shadows, it is proof of her love for the Daedric Prince, Nocturnal - the patron of thieves. Svea carries a pack of supplies on her back. It consists of the following: A rope, small and wrapped up very tightly. It has been modified so that it will come untied if she wants it to. Useful for when the only way down the mountain is to tie yourself to a rock and slide down. This is not of her doing - rather a very experienced mage. Her old mentor, actually. She also keeps dried meat and fruit, along with a canteen for water. The need for this is self explanatory. On top of that, there is a rolled up blanket, hunting knife, and a few healing potions - curative herbs with this. From her experience, you need all these things if you wish to make it out in the wild for more than a day.

• Personality

  Svea has a heart of gold, with a cold touch to it. Breaking that phrase down, her intentions are wonderful, but the way she goes about it is a bit questionable. The things she loves doing is stealing from those who have too much and refuse to aid others, then giving that wealth to people who deserve it more than the original owners. Her initial greeting will always be sweet, but it is your actions from there on out that determines how Svea's going to act towards you. It may be in a sweet manner, or it may be hostile. It all depends on what you do to her. People who know her say that she can be as sweet as the honey that graces her eyes, but she can also be cruel as the bee who makes it. She's very brave. There is nothing she will not do to ensure the safety of her loved ones, or even the safety of a stranger. Svea may come across as a bit mysterious; however, this is not done on purpose. This is her natural reaction to strangers. She can talk herself out of almost any situation - making staying out of trouble very easy.

• History

  1-80
  Svea was raised in the wilderness outside of a city in Valenwood... Silvenar - a beautiful mass of faded shades of green, red, blue, and white, with bridges of amber and petrified architecture; all due to the hardened sap from the trees. She was adopted by Nords at a very young age - hence the strange name. Her true origins are unknown to her, and she has no desire to search for them. Nothar and Ilika, plus her younger sister, Eva, have always been all the family she needed. Unlike most of her race, she is no cannibal. The Nords have always looked down upon those who ate the flesh of their kin, and with her odd upbringing, she learned to do the same. Neither her mother or father were much of a hunter, so Svea did most of the gathering of food. Vegetation was imported from other lands, due to the Green Pact put in place by the Bosmer ages ago. Even the Nords respected this ancient way of life. Fire to cook the meat was produced magically, and burned on charcoal instead of wood. Svea lived comfortably in this manner for a very long time - fifty years. The need to care for her aging parents grew more and more apparent as the years went on and for this reason alone, she never left the thick forests of her homeland, or the home she was raised in. Her parents, they died of old age. Not thirty years later, her little sister, whom she had always taken care of and always been there for - Eva - died. Her entire family was of the race of men, and therefore, could not live as long as the elves. Eighty years old, and she outlived her little sister. Svea was not surprised because of this, but there was no way she was going to convince herself that she expected it. She loved her more than anything.
  
  80-90
  With her entire life gone, Svea picked up all she owned and left. Despite being just short of a century old, she looked to still be in her teens. First, she learned to defend herself with something more than a bow. An old Bosmer named Andell decided that he would mentor her for a few years in the practice of the blade and in the art of shadow. She was decent with a sword, but her real skill lied in that of stealth. A born hunter, all it took was for her to alter her form to fit the situation. Andell was very kind to her, and in many ways, he reminded her of her Nord father. Svea wanted both to stay, and to go see the rest of Tamriel. It turns out that she didn't have a choice, as Andell kind of forced her to leave...
  
  90-120
  Now she traveled across the provinces of Tamriel. The only place she avoided was the Summerset Isles, having never liked the folk that hailed from there. In a journey back home to Valenwood, Woodhearth, specifically, one of Nocturnal's servants came to her. Ysna was her name. She claimed that her doings had been noticed, and that she wanted to introduce Svea to the ways of the Nightingales. A worthy candidate she seemed, or so she said. Svea agreed, hesitantly, not being a huge fan of the Daedra but also feeling a pull towards the Lady Nocturnal. Ysna - the young Breton woman whom had initially came to her - brought Svea to the province of Skyrim for the time. This was the homeland of Svea's family - she instantly found a connection to the land. The land of snow and mountains, the people as harsh as the land itself. Only the Nords knew the secrets of coaxing the land to bear fruits. Ysna had her inducted into the Thieves Guild, and after proving herself in a variety of ways - all suiting her 'good thief' personality of course, she brought her to Nightingale hall and transacted the oath with Nocturnal.The armor was given to her, the agreement was made and Svea became a Nightingale - a part of a supposedly mythical group whose members have been that of legend. She was no ordinary thief, there was always something that differed from her and the others. She took only from those who were greedy and gave that wealth instead to those who looked to further the happiness and well-being of others. Svea grew very close to Ysna, and learned what bits of magic she could from the Breton. Eventually, Svea packed up and left again. She wanted to learn more about the Arcane Arts, and a certain master of Alteration had caught her eye.
  
  120-200
  Svea spent this time with a Dunmer mage in Cyrodiil, advancing her skill in the art of magic. Her mentor was an expert in alteration - the school of magic in which she was most interested at the time. The mentor, Zirimal, had been using her as a test subject for his experiments. The man had already prolonged his life span by magical means, and of course did this to Svea in order to confirm his method. But he added a twist. Not only would her life be lengthened, the aging process would as well. She would never look as old as she really was. The biological clock would be set back by a few decades, and from then on, a hundred years of aging would look to only be ten. This ended up working - however it came with a surprise. Upon casting the spell, Zirimal's life force was drawn out of himself and into Svea. She took his remaining days for himself. Not on purpose, of course. Zirimal had been the one to cast the spell and therefore, he brought it upon himself. He withered into no more than a pile of ash as she absorbed the many years of life he had left in him. Svea felt terrible, even though she knew that none of this was her fault. She quickly left Cyrodiil and went back to Skyrim, taking her beloved mentor's notes and books with her. No one should have access to the secrets the Dark Elf had discovered. Besides, Skyrim was where she was supposed to be, the Twilight Sepulcher being located there and all.
  
  200-?
  Svea arrived in Skyrim again. This time she made out to stay there. Her home was made in the wilderness of Falkreath - a small abandoned shack that she patched up the holes in and made livable once more. Svea rarely stayed there, normally running around and aiding the people of Skyrim the only way she knew how - taking things that didn't exactly belong to her. She regularly ran jobs for the Thieves Guild.
  
  A motherless bear cub wandered into the shack not ten years ago. She took the cub in and raised it herself instead of letting it die off in the wilderness. Elisan - the now fully grown bear - is friendly towards all men and elves, and sticks around Svea's shack most of the time, seemingly guarding it. Sometimes Elisan will follow Svea around for a few days. A few times, he ran into towns thinking that the people would welcome him with open arms...

  What Svea doesn't know is that she comes from a Nomadic, Daedra-worshipping tribe from within the forests of Valenwood. They abandoned her when she was a child, because she seemed very weak. This is where the tattoo on her fave came from. It is the Daedric rune for 'M', giving a hint to the name that was given her at birth - Milbereth. Her lost brother, Rianis, eventually left the clan once he learned that they left his little sister for dead. He soon discovered that she was alive, thanks to the the archives of Silvenar, and now searches for her. This proves difficult. Svea is a difficult woman to find. And, to top it all off, Rianis isn't even sure if she's the right woman. But, he looks for her, nonetheless.
