• The Seven Heads in Brief

  • Cahir: The most 'Hydra'-like head, arrogant, quick-tempered, ravenous and greedy.
  • Dermot: Suffers from depression, incredibly sensitive, often maintains long periods of silence.
  • Blake: A bookworm, curious, intelligent, and always up for a discussion.
  • Steve: The head in control of the body, long-suffering, yet patient and polite.
  • Jared: Outgoing, uninhibited and fun-loving.
  • Fabien: Vain, narcissistic, self-centered, very rarely looks beyond his own appearance.
  • Lucas: A bit naive and repressed, spiritual, wanting to be a good person.

• A Seven-Fold Description

  The hydra's main body consists of a quadrupedal, reptilian hind and forequarters, mostly consisting of muscle and sinew with the fat evenly distributed along his ventral area so as to give it a bit of a softer appearance and cushion his more vital areas. His paws are all similar in size and shape, three-toed and curled into ebony black claws, his hind paws slightly thicker than his forepaws. His tail is approximately the length of his body, long, sinuous and easy to control, ending in a pair of webbed fins. It helps to balance out the weight of his many heads and necks:
  
  From Left to Right

  • Cahir: Cahir's snout is thick and powerful, vaguely reminiscent of a shark's. He has a pair of long, thick horns which protrude straight back from his skull, ending in tapered tips. Along his spine is a spiked golden mane, mostly following the line and contours of his head and neck, wild, but ordered and intimidating. It will flare out whenever he displays a particularly strong outburst of emotion. His teeth are sharper, more jagged, and numerous than any of the other's, as he tends to be the head that not only eats the most, but will often tear into anything he fancies, regardless of whether he intends to eat it or not. Building materials tend to be a prime example of this.
    
    Cahir is the most like a traditional hydra in terms of personality. He is arrogant, sneering down at anyone below him, seeing them either as prey or slaves coming to pay tribute. Often there is little distinction between the two. He usually ends up at odds with most of the others, who either are too horrified at the prospect of acting like the monster they appear to be or are simply not interested, preferring to pursue other interests. While intelligent and capable of speech, he usually will resort to loud feral roars and attacks from his jaw by way of greeting unfamiliar faces if he isn't stopped by Steve or one of the others. He firmly believes that as a hydra, everyone around them, regardless of species, power, or size, should fear and respect him as the dominant creature.
    
    Offering him an enormous amount of food has been known to work well in calming him down. Otherwise, expect a lot of snarling, scornful remarks, and salivating over the thought of feasting on the person in front of him.
    
    
  • Dermot: Dermot has a slender, tapered muzzle and a pair of curled, ram-like horns, thick at the base, growing thinner as they spiral backwards over his webbed ear fins. His mane is rather short, growing close to his skull in small tufts, but otherwise lacking any distinctive style. His teeth are relatively small and dull, as he barely ever uses them, almost never eating.
    
    Dermot is an incredibly sensitive and easily overwhelmed individual. He suffers from a severe case of depression, originating from Steve's original transformation, which he feels incredible guilt over. He believes that his own existence and the existence of the other five auxiliary heads are solely as a means of preventing Steve from seeking out a way to reverse the transformation. The fact that Steve and several others all assure him that he is quite a bit more than this and means something to them only drives Dermot further into the belief that he is an emotional shackle preventing others from being truly happy. Being next to Cahir doesn't necessarily help, as the monstrous personality either reminds him of the 'horrible' creature Steve has been forced into being, or diminishes his already cripplingly low self-esteem by calling attention to his weakness.
    
    Though many are often drawn to his quiet personality, very few have ever been known to successfully cheer Dermot up significantly. He requires a lot of patience, persistence, and understanding to deal with.
    
    
  • Blake: Blake has a rounded, tapered muzzle, slightly thicker at the tip than at the bridge, no horns to speak of, and a short, neatly groomed mane that travels down along the back of his neck. He is the only head to wear any sort of accessory, a pair of wire rimmed glasses balanced on his snout with great care. The lenses are actually just a simple piece of non-refracted glass, as Blake's vision is perfect and needs no correction, worn only for the cosmetic effect and the belief that he would be more approachable and likely to be talked to as an intelligent person with them on.
    
    Blake is quite kind to everyone he meets, more interested in talking and listening and studying and observing than almost anything else. He will quite happily engage anyone nearby in a conversation, asking questions, making comments, and sometimes getting in a bit over his head when the person he's talking to ends up having more in mind than just a friendly chat. A keen mind, Blake is a voracious learner and reader, often requesting books, videos, presentations and more besides. He is naturally curious about everything and everyone he comes across, wanting to learn everything he can, right to the very last detail. He does his best to dispel the image that a hydra is a ferocious, unthinking monster, wanting to be remembered for his intellectual mind rather than his appearance, and often draws attention to their origins, fascinated by the mechanics of the transformation and of magic itself.
    
    Blake can be a little dry and talk and awful lot if he is on a subject he is interested in, but will generally respond well to any reasonable requests. Offering him information, reading, or just talking to him like someone with a brain will very quickly attract his approval.
